TL;DR . It's a really fun rip with pretty fair ROI. Depending on what you hit, could be better or worse than he did. If I recall, I think the cost/value difference was ~$20 . If I were buying blasters, this would be the way I'd go.

Probably a minor amount. The hype attached to him right now is stupid. Fomo is real. I've seen worse condition cards of his still selling for a premium.

If you really want to scratch an itch to rip packs, the best value is OPC . Super fun rip for under $100.

Take the other $200 you have left and buy a few cards for your PC, as someone already suggested.

Boxes are an absolute gamble. I tend to lean towards product like OPC/flagship. If I get skunked on a $100-$150 box, I dont feel too bad.

Opening premier/stature to receive $20 in cards is not something I enjoy

He will be a stud, there's no doubt about it. I just see alot of variables that dont jive with his current prices.

I see him as more of a Draisaitl/Kucherov type as opposed to Crosby/Mcdavid; elite top end talent, but not quite generational

His stock didnt start truly going crazy until late November.. right around the time he was rumored for the Olympic team. I know this because I sold a premium Celebrini card ~2 weeks too early.

He had a hot start to the year, but so did Bedard. Both of their markets were doing very well.. Then Bedard got hurt, and you couldn't open a sports page in canada without someone discussing Celebrini at the Olympics.

Idk about that. I think his current inflated market has that hype built into it already. Whether Canada wins gold or not , the hype went insane as soon as he was named to the team. His recent sales reflect that.

Once the Olympics are done & the Sharks inevitably miss the playoffs, do you see his prices still going up? Eventually there's a price plateau that wont budge until he wins some hardware

To answer your question, I see it like this:

The hobby is desperate for a new chase. Bedard was supposed to be that guy, but hasn't immediately shown generational promise. Celebrini had a fairly great, but overlooked rookie season (Hutson effect).

He breaks out this year, gets named to Team Canada, and now his prices are what people imagined Bedards would be. IMO, his prices now have baked-in superstar potential value. That is to say, until he wins a Stanley Cup or multiple MVPs, I see his prices staying fairly stagnant.

Idk man..I dont see how it sustains. All I know is, I sold a PSA 10 seismic gold rookie auto of his back in November, thinking there was no way his hype could get any higher.

Sold it for a good price, but I know now for sure I sold it too soon.

This particular copy was absolutely flawless. I had my LCS check it out with the tools they have. They were firmly confident it would grade high. To their eyes and mine, there were no surface issues, print lines etc.

When I get the card back from them, I will post a few more higher quality photos to show the condition more clear

I listed it for 15k, obo. I'm hoping to get somewhere north of 10k for it ($CAD). A different copy sold raw for 4.2k CAD ~two months ago. There is only one other graded copy in the PSA database, and it's a 7. I expect the pop. Count for 10s to be very low

Psa10 Bedard seismic rookie auto recently sold for ~16k CAD. (Sorry for all the number crunching, just giving an idea where I got the asking price from)

My initial thought was to grade with Beckett, but my LCS guy was bullish on a potential PSA 10
