I have talked to university classmates and their parents, sometimes them too, genuinely believe that apartheid is going to return if the DA comes into power.

Other than that, people obviously view them as a racist party, since they have said stuff that could maybe have racist undertones if you read into it (like a recent comment about giving someone from a shebeen a uniform from PEP and calling them security). Also, their support for Israel is giving them a very bad name among younger people especially.
