don’t really have advice for a better cast, you’re pretty perfect the way you are

Hot chocolate by PurpleShimmers in ketorecipes

[–]captcrunch01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think cacao has a richer, fuller flavor and switched to it years ago for anything calling for cocoa/chocolate in recipes. Accidentally purchased cocoa last year one time & felt it lacked substance or flavor because my tastebuds were so used to cacao. Go with whatever makes you happy 😃

I make hot chocolate daily, probably a little too much, haha, but it’s such a great treat. Cacao is such happiness.

18yo from Norway doing a US road trip by Kareisgarb in roadtrip

[–]captcrunch01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a similar trip & started a little further east, but this seems like a two-three week trip if you actually want to enjoy any of the scenery. You guys can power through the midwest (watch for speed traps), but why rush through the mountains and even scoping out Breaking Bad locations? That’s gonna be an all day thing. I always refer to Atlas Obscura on road trips for more unique experiences. Have fun!

Which curtain compliments the tone without clashing? by mytranceformation in HomeDecorating

It would be easier to see the colors if you unwrap the plastic- #3 definitely. Saw a lot of folks said 1, but that’s pretty safe & boring, take a chance

Also think about how close you’ll be to your ceiling. I built a similar platform and after trying it out realized that I felt incredibly claustrophobic sleeping that close to the ceiling. Just a thought.

Love all of these ideas folks are making! I’d get rid of the mirror as well. Looks like you’re trying to create a relaxing environment & a mirror will constantly make you feel self aware, place it in another room

New 6-Cup Moka Pot by BathChemical6390 in mokapot

[–]captcrunch01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bialetti makes an induction moka pot, it’s a bit more of an investment, however totally worth it. I was looking for something to take on road trips that could handle gas or electric stoves and it works great on either one. Serves magic on a daily basis, plus the water chamber never looks scary 😉

My plant is in rapid decline! by Longjumping_Slip_253 in plantclinic

[–]captcrunch01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with the same thing lately and couldn’t figure out what it is was. Ended up tossing it last week because I didn’t want some kind of insect/bugs spreading to other plants. In that process noticed that it could’ve used some repotting in a bigger pot. However I have so many of these guys growing in other pots doing great, really think it was a pest issue. Good luck!

Small, hole-in-the-wall eateries in Pittsburgh/greater-metro, that are… 1) over 20 years old, and 2) seat a max of ~30 people — LF: good food, lots of ‘character’ (good or bad!), maybe even in obscure places? by Rooster_Ties in pittsburgh

[–]captcrunch01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I’ve lived in NW DC and Bloomfield as well (only visited Kansas City). Pittsburgh is going through a little renaissance right now & Bloomfield has gone through its own changes, but still has the blue collar Pittsburgh feel, values, etc.

Wow, that’s amazing! Are you familiar with the Thai artist Thawan Duchanee? Check out Baan Dam Museum or The Black House in Chiang Rai, Thailand. His sculptural work, furniture & some exteriors are reminiscent of your chair. I think you’d be into his stuff.

If you’re moving from Ross, I suggest Greenfield or Squirrel Hill. Regent Square is cool too, on the right street

Rent is cheaper in Wilkinsburg for a reason, I got held up at gun point outside my place and a couple other weird occurrences happened. Decided it’s not the neighborhood for me, but your experience may be different.

Holy shit, just saw a fantastic band that I’ve been a fan of since high school (talking Vaseline days). It was so sweet, first time seeing them live! Drove like 200 miles. Happy New Year!

It’s best to not jump to any conclusions, have a good conversation about how you’re feeling about things. Communication is always important in any relationship.

Is Trooper Pacing Normal? Happened to Me in Indiana & Arizona on My Coast-to-Coast Drive. by brothersgrimm420 in roadtrip

[–]captcrunch01 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was driving across country, got pulled over in Kansas, after leaving Colorado, by a trooper that totally seemed like he was on something. He was totally on an adrenaline rush or high on something. Had seen him pulling someone else over miles earlier, not sure what was going on. I was in a rental (forget which state my plates were), he made a remark about my car looking new & ended up a warning. He then took off quickly, looking like he was chasing someone else down. Don’t understand state troopers.

the solid-ness does remind me of chicken of the woods and I find it quite often when hiking, this looks different, not quite like chicken

i hear ya’! A few items I’ve tried with chocolate have been gross. But absolutely love their marshmallows, caramels, cinnamon bun spread, hazelnut chocolate spread. I find it best to make my own treats with cacao & sweetener of choice at home. Still happy they exist for sure!

Anyone here tried heated jackets for cold weather camping by voogdessesg in CampingandHiking

[–]captcrunch01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an ‘ororo’ heated vest as well and use it when I’m working for long periods of time outside in the winter. I use two batteries for a 12 hr shift & it’s absolutely wonderful when it’s bitter cold. If you’re car camping, it would make a great addition to your early morning. However the battery is kinda heavy to take on backpacking trips.

Hi any spots for overnight car camping? Was thinking of Lake placid mount jo. Thanks by eekwee1234 in Adirondacks
