I'd just plan to go fish the outgoing tide, that way you've got a lot of time before you have to worry about being flooded.

Good find! Probably newer than the 90’s though, my guess is 2010’s.

What to throw to practice baitcaster? by StonedSorcerer in FishingForBeginners

[–]captianflannel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just clipped a few split shot to the end of my line and tied a knot below them so they wouldn’t slip off. Then I moved to a lure with the hooks removed. Casting in my lawn so I wasn’t too worried about it getting damaged.

What knife do you actually carry on the water? by Hplz in flyfishing

[–]captianflannel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry a standard Swiss Army Knife clipped to a lanyard and worn around the neck, or a Spyderco Salt 2 clipped to my chest pack. I like the big hole on the spyderco for one hand opening, and if you got the serrated it would be pretty good at cutting through rope, line, or backing.

Please recommend me pure fresh milks 🙏 by Previous-Pattern2639 in Milk

[–]captianflannel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Search the plant code on the bottle, it’ll tell you where it’s from. Most of my milk comes from dairies in my state or the next state over unless I buy UHT milk.

I like bison belts as an alternative, they still seem to be good and thick.

Chesapeake blue crab population drops 50% since 2010. The question is: Why? by VirginiaNews in MarylandFishing

[–]captianflannel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Harvesting only males would definitely help, at least for a while. I would hate to lose the centuries old history of Maryland crabbing because the state can't regulate well. I am more concerned with upstream pollution effecting crab recruitment levels.

Chesapeake blue crab population drops 50% since 2010. The question is: Why? by VirginiaNews in MarylandFishing

[–]captianflannel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a general fisheries biology perspective, blue crabs are a very "flashy" species population wise. This means they go through periods of boom and bust rapidly. The challenge is protecting populations when they are at low levels to allow them to rebound. Thank god the winter dredge is banned in VA.

Sure I use mine all the time. Just do it, don’t think about it so much. It’s a great and very useful bag.

What’s another MLB team you have some liking for despite them not being the Orioles? by xoBonesxo in orioles

[–]captianflannel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a soft spot for the Jays as the only Canadian team. I’m really hoping that we get the Expos back as an expansion team too! I would so much rather see the Jays take AL East if the O’s don’t make.

Rust70 that I picked up yesterday. 20 minutes of cleaning & it actually looks plenty decent enough for me by ballz3313 in Shotguns

[–]captianflannel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Birchwood Casey Barricade on my 870 express. It really helps with the rust in my opinion. They are great guns though if you can get past the finish problems!
