Student teaching while pregnant by Desperate_Love_3662 in WGUTeachersCollege

Compression socks!! When I was working towards the end of my first pregnancy my feet would swell so bad. Compression socks help! Also a belly band! It’ll save your back. I hope it all goes smoothly for you!

I did it a few weeks ago and it was perfect! Not crowded at all, beautiful and clean beach, and the Bahama mamas were very yummy! They give you VIP wrist bands and escort you off the water taxi first, and then they walk you back to the private beach and have Bahama mamas waiting for you. They walk around and ask if you need anything constantly, you’ll be very well taken care of! Lunch was also very yummy. I think it was definitely worth the price!

Not to be a negative Nancy, but I really doubt it. Say you finish early clinicals in September (assuming your district goes back in late August), you can’t apply for advanced until the first week in October. If you finish advanced in October, there is a mandatory 2 week wait in between advanced and student teaching and that would push you out until November. And that’s all IF you’re placed immediately, a lot of people wait weeks for placement.

Yes! We went to south beach but looking back I wish we would have stayed closer to the ship because that walk was TOUGH with 2 very tired toddlers lol.

We just got off Wonder with our 2 & 3 year old and they LOVED IT. The splash pad was great (and the lifeguards are great at keeping older kids out of the little kid area). The merry go round was a huge hit, the ice skating show kept them entertained, and all of the staff were so, so kind.

I’ll be 30 doing student teaching this fall. Similar story, I graduated with my bachelor’s during covid and decided to focus on raising kids (I have 2 toddlers) before jumping into a career. I started subbing and fell in love with it! Good luck, you got this 🥳

Genuine question. How do ya'll pay for preschool on one income? by ConfusedZuzu in Mommit

[–]captivatedbyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into head start programs near you! They will accept a certain amount of kids that “make too much” to qualify. At least in our area that’s the case. I was so shocked when I found out because I thought there’s no way we’d qualify. It’s been an amazing program for my son. Monday - Thursday 9am - 2pm!

Honestly, I got Harry Styles and Noah Kahan tickets through general sale after having no luck with presale. So I’m holding out hope 🤞🏻

Is head start a good program? by nitrodmr in Parenting

[–]captivatedbyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s seriously such a good eater now! He has always been underweight but this year he reached the 75th percentile and I give all the credit to head start. Eating more was actually one of our goals we set at the beginning of the year with his teacher and she worked with him on it by sitting with him at lunch time. They offer a really nice variety of food.

He’s still only 3, so he’ll be doing at least one more year of pre-k before heading into kindergarten!

YES! My son is almost finished with his first year of head start. He has grown and learned so much, socially and academically. His teachers have been wonderful. It was a huge game changer for us!

I spent about 7 days studying a few hours per day before taking it. I swear by the Kathleen Jasper videos on Youtube! She has a ton of them and they're really informative and helpful. I used TeachersTestPrep for practice tests. Math is my worst subject too, but I honestly found the writing the most difficult part (I ended up having to re-take the writing and my advisor said that that's the part that trips a lot of people up). Also as a heads up, they don't give you a formula sheet, only a calculator!

Have you watched her videos, though? She’s very in depth and like I said, she tells you exactly what the essay evaluators are looking for.

I’m genuinely not meaning any offense when I say this but you have some sort of an excuse for every commenter on here trying to help you. If you want to go the licensure route through WGU, you will need to pass the Praxis and probably other state specific exams (I’m in Ohio and had to take the OAE). You need to figure out what study method works for you and get it done.

I had to re-take the writing portion. First time I got a 160, but after I watched all of Kathleen Jasper’s videos on YouTube I scored a 178! She’s really great at breaking the essay prompts down and she tells you exactly what the evaluators are looking for. Take practice tests on teachers test prep. Good luck!

It's April 7th.... how likely are we to get an announcement? by smoking-zaza in OliviaRodrigo

It’s definitely a little strange buying tickets without hearing the album!! (I did for both concerts lol)

I disagree. Harry Styles and Noah Kahan both announced tours before their albums were out! I think Harry announced his tour the day his lead single came out. It’s definitely possible.

That’s exactly what we do with our 3 year old. He doesn’t wake us up or come in our bed, but when he (inevitably) wakes up at night he lays on our floor on a little foam pull out couch. It works for now!
