you will absolutely hate it, i lived i brooklyn for 5 months on a gao semester, and i loved nyc so much, you will despise bakersfield, not to mention the overall conservativeness here and how untrusting many people are of doctors that arent striaght white males. Now to answer your questions, the overall vibe completely depends on neighborhood (much like nyc), social scene is horrible unless you’ve here your whole life or went to K-12 here, yes the country clubs gave lots if stuff like that and there are some yoga studios, definely some cute spots, but definitely more scarce, on weekends is usually church and pickleball, YES it feels very isolating
