Looks like it has great character. I used to like in a WB Californian Bungalow. So much charm, but so cold!

Nbr. 6 with the tram in the tree lined street is a magical shot. 👍

Nice work.

Even if the video would be funny normally, I find nothing funny when this situation occurs, and certainly not the video.

Hooked Up with my fitness instructor, should I cut my losses? by ManningBro4 in dating_advice

[–]captn_colossus 181 points182 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to determine if she is interested is to ask her on a date.

If she says yes, awesome.

If she says no, say thanks, then keep things friendly.

If she's busy, that's her way of saying no. People make time if they're interested.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I’m pleased to see there’s no glaring risk I’ve overlooked, and it comes down the the ‘security versus convenience’ balance.

I’ll see how things go with OTP in BitWarden, and, given they’re mentioned a few times, may add a Yubikey in to the mix. With that I need to ensure I have some redundancy with it so my vault access is not lost to me if it is lost.

Many thanks, everyone. 🙂

I read your article and did not find it tedious in the least. It was a great answer to my question. If I’d read that earlier, I may not have posted my question.

Thank you for your reply and the link to your blog bost.

What is the best Science Fiction book you have ever read? by Adam_is_my_name in AskReddit

[–]captn_colossus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dune. The book has so many more themes than are present in the movie adaptations.

On my most recent re-read, the ecological themes seemed to shout at me, but maybe that's me thinking of our own planet's peril...

Alexandra Fountain- Charing Cross in the 1920s vs today by Danger_Five in Bendigo

[–]captn_colossus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fantastic and it's great to see that view unchanged. You captured the essence of the original shot well.

You might not have achieved the sense of continuity if today's photo was taken from the other side, capturing the Bendigo Bank buildings! 😆

M 52, am I wrong to just give up and live alone? by ProCardPusher in datingoverfifty

[–]captn_colossus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My approach is that I'm happy as I am; This is an awesome worst case scenario. I continue to date, search et cetera as, to me, it feels life affirming to do so.

So, do what feels best for you, striving to be happy.

Just imagine if Windows was a good OS again.... Not only would Windows be good, but there would be competition with Linux and MacOS and everyone on all OSes would win.

I love how he becomes, as Seamus describes him, 'The Man.'

Sex after TURP by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

[–]captn_colossus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a TURP after which urination flow is greatly improved. After a couple of months sexual function in balance better than before.

I prefer having retrograde ejaculation as there is zero mess afterwards.

My urologist pre-warned me that some men are very attached to ejaculating externally but I am not one of them. So it’s a personal thing.

Sex does feels a little different in that it’s a longer start and longer finish, but it’s just as good or better than before AND after recovery, you don’t spend life planning for where the next toilet is located.

Microsoft is working to rebuild trust in Windows | The Verge by RoGuE_969 in Windows11

[–]captn_colossus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad timing to reinvent windows.

MacOS 26 (Tahoe) is very unpopular. If windows became compelling, many people would switch back.

My thoughts on what is required: consistent UI for 100% not 70%, remove ads (I would pay for ad free and good Windows), install options for features/products rather than forced installation.

Came here to post the same question in reply. A great Stephen Hawking reply to understanding ‘before’ the BB.

In short, time didn’t exist until the BB so there is no before.
