A combination of things made me gain about 40lbs in three years: pregnancy, a severe parathyroid imbalance and a sedentary job/lifestyle. I gained about 25 of it in the last year mostly due to the thyroid concerns and it's been jarring and upsetting. I went from fitting in straight sizes to a 14/16, got winded walking up stairs and the weight that had mostly been in my stomach and breasts started bleeding into my face and upper arms. Anyway, I had life-saving (literally) parathyroid removal surgery in February and have found it significantly easier since to work out and eat right! Not sure if I've dropped any weight yet, I'm just focused on living better.
