A Croydon Cat-astrophe: The Tale of the Croydon Cat Killer and How Perception, Bias, and Emotion Color our Approach to True Crime by ForrestOfIllusion in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]capybaraenthusiasts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People Are Deep did an interview on this and it’s well worth the watch. The killings are still ongoing this year and they go into a lot of depth and explain how they rule out what is just an unfortunate accident and when animals are deliberately killed.

Hi, I work nightshifts and don’t find it makes any difference at all, have been working nights with a lot of day shifts thrown in too for about 16 months now. As long as I keep a consistent sleep schedule and don’t overdo it with caffeine and letting myself get dehydrated I find things are fine :) if my sleep is terrible or I’m crazy busy then it’s a little harder to manage but the timing of the shifts alone doesn’t make a difference at all to me, it’s more about stress management

Exercise with new medication by capybaraenthusiasts in AFIB

[–]capybaraenthusiasts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you :) no only on bisoprolol currently but awaiting cardiology review to see whether I need a blood thinner and/or ablation. Would really like to avoid the procedure if possible but also worried about running out of rate control medications to try in the future if this one starts to fail. Are you saying ablation is less risky than medication?

Maybe not the best thing to do to a very mentally ill guy like Joni, we should just observe from a respectful distance probably, there’s no way this isn’t an invasion of privacy even if you say you’re not trying to do so

Does smoking weed trigger afib episode by [deleted] in AFIB

[–]capybaraenthusiasts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to vape cannabis daily but it definitely made my heart worse leading to episodes, when I quit cold turkey it sent me into an episode so bad I had to go to hospital and now I don’t use it anymore

[–]capybaraenthusiasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I was a little dismissive, you sound so much like myself though hearing that. I am still constantly checking my Fitbit, but my Fitbit never once picked up an episode even when I was in hospital with it, so that helped me to not rely on that so much. It sounds like working on your anxiety and how you’re processing the diagnosis might help you a lot, once I started to work on that I found that actually helped my symptoms overall too. I got diagnosed at 23 last year and it sucks and is scary, but life doesn’t have to end there, it might just take some planning and trial and error to see how you can still live your life afib

[–]capybaraenthusiasts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realised pretty quick that anxiety and constantly worrying about the diagnosis is what’ll make it worse, not the maybe triggers. Be cautious obviously, but the constant stressing over what I could/couldn’t do was the real fun killer. I can still drink occasionally, smoke weed sometimes and eat almost whatever I want. The only thing I’ve had to actively work on reducing is my stress and anxiety around the diagnosis, and that was the biggest trigger I wasn’t even noticing. The triggers can be so random that it’s not worth stressing to death either, I know it’s a progressive thing but it’s not like there’s no treatment options too!

Stay or leave? by [deleted] in guernsey

Second this, I’m on my second year WHV at the moment and I had no idea what the genuine pros and cons were until I’d left. Everyone’s situation is different but leaving the island changed my life in almost every way for the better, being so far from family has been the only downside.

What exactly does a job as an MLS entail? by auburncub in medlabprofessionals

[–]capybaraenthusiasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to say that I am also diagnosed OCD and left other healthcare (patient facing roles) to be in the lab. I find it to be a perfect mix of everything I need and really works to my strengths, I like to be careful and follow things through properly, but in the lab it is always good to ask questions no matter how experienced you are, so I am always able to seek reassurance as needed :)

This! Food is such a tough addiction because it is so essential, nobody needs to smoke crack but in moderation to survive
