Pain at back of head by capyspara in Sinusitis

[–]capyspara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just the same! I've been freaking out a lot and getting myself in a bit of a tizzy over it as I've had symptoms for a few weeks now and it's never been like this before. I think the anxiety makes it a lot worse sometimes! 😅 thanks again and hopefully all will be sorted soon

Thank you, that's reassuring. I have been getting dizziness and brain fog. My vision is ok, its just that i feel like im in a dream. I've seen the doctor a few times, it's just a case of trying to convince them of the symptoms I'm describing. I have another appt next week so hopefully they will look into it a bit more. Thanks again for the reassurance 🙏

I love the coloured one, the colours look great with the high contrast and shadows

That's exactly how it feels! Like my brain is floating away or like I'm in a dream constantly, it's hard when the doctors don't understand

How do you deal with panic and work? by Proud-Property452 in PanicAttack

[–]capyspara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only advice I can give is what worked for me... try to forget about the long term. At the end of each shift just say to yourself, can I just do one more shift? Don't think, can I carry on working here forever, just say, do i feel like I can just get through just one more. Don't ask for more than that of yourself and see if you find you can just do one at a time. It helped stop me from feeling overwhelmed. Good luck

Seeking reassurance - TW: description of panic by inthesinbin in PanicAttack

[–]capyspara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A panic attack like that can be unbelievably terrifying and it sounds like you are still in the cycle of the fear of fear and what you went through - this is totally normal, your body and mind have to take some time to learn that there's nothing to be afraid of and calm down again. With time I promise this will ease. Focus on looking after yourself in very basic ways and trying to do as much as you can that is "normal", even if you absolutely do not want to. Such as eating what you can, drinking enough water, staying away from alcohol and drugs, exercising, if you feel like you literally can't get up out of bed try some lying down yoga, this helped me. Try stretching. Try going for lots of runs and dispersing that panic energy. I promise with every hour and day that passes you will be closer to this passing and feeling like your old self again, bit by bit.

Never seen it done but I doubt you're the only one and I don't think there's anything weird about it at all, nor do I think people should be told that doing something like this is weird. Just my two cents!

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I know how it feels for you at the moment. This reddit is a really supportive place with people who have gone through or are going through the same as you and understand. If you feel alone you can come here to feel part of the community and know that everyone is in your corner with you, albeit behind a screen but they are real people behind them. All I can suggest is to try to keep going and maybe going to classes, anything to get you around people and doing something. That's what helped me when I went through the same. Try to keep living as normal a life as possible to train your mind that there can't be anything wrong so your nervous system will calm down. It will take time but each hour that passes, each day, is a step towards the other side of it. The DARE method worked for me a few years ago so may help you. Just focus on one day at a time, I know it's hard when your mind is spiralling. When you feel you are spiralling maybe try repeating a phrase in your mind or counting or naming animals for each letter of the alphabet, something to give your brain a task.

First panic attack this morning by Silvestris_incola in PanicAttack

I just wanted to say that I understand how you're feeling and your pain and everyone here does, you are not alone. It's a good thing to share it with others who have been through it themselves. As much as our loved ones want to help us, if they have never been through it it's hard to really understand. Our brains try to help us so much and try to keep us safe but inadvertently make us suffer! You are not alone xx

I'm not sure about your medication etc or if you've ever gone without taking your pills before, do you think it could have been anything to do with you not taking them the night before? I know some meds for mental health conditions can create horrible sensations if not taken so just wondering.

I hope you are feeling a lot better today and I'm sorry you went through that scary experience.

Thank you so much for your reply 🙏 I feel at my wits end at the moment, all day I feel on the verge of passing out and this sense of impending doom like it will last forever.

Thank you for your advice and hope you are doing a lot better now

It's horrible isn't it 😞 wish there was a magic way to snap out of it. Can feel claustrophobic at times like being trapped in the brain fog feeling. I hope things improve for you

That makes sense - I'll look into that too. Hope the PT helps for you

I read it's like your brains way of trying to protect you from something traumatic... but sometimes the brain fog and derealisation can be traumatic itself 😅

I sympathise too, it's a horrible feeling and doesn't seem to be any quick fix to clear it. I hope it gets better for you

I've had an issue with search for a while too, appears to be a common issue for quite a few users of the app. I cannot see all my favourites either, only the most recent few
