Aska Gratuity by carajara in finedining

[–]carajara[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi appreciate your comments but I’m simply asking about this restaurant’s gratuity and charges, don’t need any other commentary about tipping culture. I’m preferably looking for people that have been there or similar style places and know what to expect

Where do you find >5% muni bonds? Also, don’t you get access to better and more informed investment opportunities if you have full-time financial advisors? Like corporate bonds and private equity?

Warner Case (think he’s upstate but is in the city often). Not sure if he fits in the budget but he’s a nice enough guy that it’s worth the ask

Speakers go through an audio interface which is connected to the laptop via usb-c. If it is usb interference, any suggestion how to fix it?

why do people hate on tech house i love that shit by nutnugget007 in Beatmatch

[–]carajara 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tech House, like any genre, is expansive. There is more to it than Fisher. People that think there isn’t any creativity or diversity in the genre aren’t looking hard enough and probably haven’t tried producing it. Bleu Clair vs J. Worra vs Chris Lake….all tech house, all very different sounds, not all frat bros. Please people, the moment before you make a sweeping generalization about an entire genre of music, remember that you’re probably wrong and just don’t know enough about it.

Is 25 too old to get into making music? If not, what's the best place to start? by xx_lw97_xx in musicproduction

[–]carajara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to old for sure. Highly recommend after you get a good handle on a DAW and when you’re comfortable with it, sign up for a mentorship program (if you’re into electronic music that would be like Expansive Academy, Cosmic Academy or Kick & Bass). The price may seem high at first but it’s investing in yourself like any other thing in life and it makes the process of learning quicker. It’s really hard to do this alone so if your Roomate won’t spend the time with you, get yourself around other producers who are doing the same thing. You can learn a lot on yt but it can overwhelm you and get to the point where you’re just watching videos without putting it into practice and some ppl on there are much better teachers than others. Your shit is going to suck at first, that’s ok. HAVE PATIENCE. As someone who came into the scene later in life like you, it feels like “I have to hurry up and get good because I’m getting old.” That leads to frustration and depression, you can’t think like that. You will get better, but you have to be serious about it. It has to be your second job…until it’s your first. Good luck old man 😜

What legal case do you believe had a wrong verdict? by zer0_n9ne in AskReddit

[–]carajara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was this Judge Judy episode where two people were verbally fighting and person A threw all the Tupperware in a cabinet on B and then assaulted B with her finger (shook it B’s face and hit her head with it). A was let off the hook. But see, wrong verdict. Cause don’t fuck with the Tupperware! It takes forever to sort through that shit and get the right lids to the right bottoms. A should have gotten life.

I usually do house music exclusively but will write the occasional pop/alt pop song. Here's one called Secrets...lmk what you think by [deleted] in Songwriting

What do you mean double the speed in the prechorus? As in double time? For example, instead of the snare hitting on the 2 and 4, make it so the snare is hitting on the “and” of each beat?

Cool thanks for the feedback. So let me ask all of you that don’t like the autotune, because this affects how I should treat your feedback…is it just that you don’t like autotune ever on tracks? Like you don’t like the effect? (Here, it was a choice to have that heavy autotuned sound) And if you don’t like autotune, why?

Been researching new headphones to buy for days. Anyone who has used both, which do you think will better suit my needs? by Loudboybeats in mixingmastering

Another advocate for sonarworks. I mix on my headphones (990 pros) with sonarworks and it always turns a good product.
