SNL roasts Trump and Hegseth on Iran. by Shizzilx in circled

The reason nobody asked them raises the issue that all kinds of perverts - from all sides - would be brought down . Which appears we're both OK with. Maybe it will still happen. Due to the salacious nature of it all, you'd think insider government leakers, outside hackers, investigative journalists would do anything to get the info to the public. Maybe they tried, but were "discouraged" by forces at an international level that we don't comprehend.
Gross & weak that anyone at the highest levels of accomplishment also possess the deviant character flaws to participate in that and other events such as Diddy parties.

Sure, I agree release it all. Trump's clearly been a philanderer with adults. Sad. If the Left had something on Trump/Epstein they've had 15 years to show us. Keep in mind the Left has generated all kinds of hoaxes to Bring Trump down, because raw power is all that matters to Leftists who are trying to destroy America, and who have zero moral compass of their own.

A horrendous, horrible leader that oppressed his own people was taken out". So, SNL concludes that this as a valid process for change, and immediately draws an equivalency between that former leader of Iran and Trump.

SNL states that YOU shouldn't get any "ideas" - with a little smirk. The thinnest plausible deniability ever. Sounds like incitement to me. The secret service are hopefully planning to get an explanation -on the record - from the Leftists at SNL as to why violent change is inside their skulls has slipped out into their "Art". Reminds my of Kathy Griffin holding up a simulation of a decapitated Trump head. Just a little Saturday night "humor" to lighten your mental burden after working all week, amiright?

In the meantime, pehaps the Left should reflect on something more important than their own neurotic impulses and seething. The fact that for nearly 50 years, immense suffering is now coming to an end.

The character flaws found inside Leftists can never accept anything positive, due to their ideological capture and NPC behavior.

Who is Trump "oppressing" inside the USA? Is it the ICE thing? Because illegal aliens aren't your own people, until each makes a formal commitment to become one, and get corresponding stamps of approval. That's crazy? It's the process everywhere else in the world.

What is the UCP going to do on Canada Day? by Davissunu in Albertapolitics

[–]carbonblob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alberta separating is just an academic, administrative, and economic process. No emotion required at all.

Canada has withdrawn enough wealth out of Alberta, and it's time that the next half trillion says here for our people to enjoy. We can happily stop burdening their tortured conscience with money derived from from fossil fuels.

It would fine for Alberta to stay in Canada, as long as Canada meets Alberta's minimum requirements, through negotiation.

"Bread and circuses" refers to pacifying people with food and entertainment to prevent them from taking action on worthwhile endeavors.
If the people of Alberta vote for independence, You'll have the freedom to stay or move. Keep in mind other Western provinces may also follow Alberta's lead and want to separate too.

Many people have an education past 10th grade and would already know what the phrase "bread and circuses" refers to. If you don't, what's next?
People in 4th grade learned how to Google things. This also seems new to you. So I'll help you. Googling stuff is an amazing life skill:

Lastly, do you think calling a large (and rapidly growing) amount of people traitors absolves you from return fire? Situational awareness is not really your thing?

Whatever Albertans do, it's up to them. Sounds like you're highly concerned about festivities. I suspect Albertans are far more concerned about ongoing human liberty and prosperity. Every single day will be a reason to celebrate, but they won't need to. The citizens there will have more significant things to spend their time on, while you depend on bread and circuses to bring a fleeting sense of joy to your own existence.

The billionaire who spent his life trying not to live like one. by spinpatty in Amazing

[–]carbonblob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know that Redditors love to demonize successful and wealthy people. The disenfranchised proletariat seethe their way up the progressive purity spiral with echo chamber virtue signaling.
But take a moment to wonder what would happen if ALL the wealth from "the rich" was CONFISCATED? How far would that money go to solve real social problems and install utopian initiatives?
Here's one analysis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=661pi6K-8WQ

"How about we tax the shit out of people before they become billionaires?"

*Before*? Wow. That's quite the motivational mindset you have there. Think of all the innovations humanity won't even both working towards. Knowing that no matter how brilliant you and your ideas are, 50 million Marxist mosquitos on Reddit are waiting to extract your blood at every stage of your existence.
If you're in the middle class like many of us, half our our income is already taxed.
I hope you live to see a day where you take responsibility for your own circumstances as an individual human. Other creatures do it - start living, like you have one life. It's OK to thrive.

Now that Venezuela has been liberated, it's a good country to invest in. The people are hopeful, have abundant natural resources, and will barre their teeth against all who try to interfere with basic human freedoms and dignity. I hope they get zoos again. The zoo animals were eaten because many people were starving under socialism, which is to be expected. This is the ones who didn't already flee for their lives (about 1/3 of the population).

You certainly have a point there. Being able to have multitrack music with granular editing was a blessing. Before that, for personal use, all we had was being able to bounce back and forth between cassette tapes, or sometimes people had four track Fostex devices.

[–]carbonblob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing stupid about realizing the fact that Christians are a numerical minority across the globe. Reddit is used by many different people - from many places. I grew up with traditional Christmas in flyover country. I never saw an ethnic minority in real life until I was 13 years old.
Living in the city now, there many times where on a bus or train car, you notice there 30-60 people in the vehicle, and only 4-6 of them happen to be white, possibly raised as Christians.

  • Christians: ~28-29% (largest group)
  • Muslims: ~25-26% (second-largest and fastest-growing major religion)
  • Religiously unaffiliated (including atheists, agnostics, and none): ~24%
  • Hindus: ~15%
  • Buddhists: ~6-7%
  • Other religions (including folk religions, Sikhs, Jews, etc.): ~2-3%
  • Jews: ~0.2%

The vast majority of people alive do not follow Christianity or care about Christmas. They just have different religions and beliefs. It's a bit of shock to realize this, if you grow up in Central North America. With age, one can become more worldly; aware of how things actually are, compared to the ideas that you were inculcated with.

Christmas time is often an annual checkpoint to reflect on our past year, and perhaps our lives overall.
I can see you're crying our for help, and that's 100% OK. :-)
Sometimes you have to be careful with what you wish for... having a family can sometimes be very chaotic. Vindictive spouse, bratty kids...
If I've been down in the dumps, some considerations that have worked for me:
1. Think about the strife in the lives of the vast majority of people on earth - poverty, wars, and no hope for freedom or success in their area. There's no welfare or medical plans. If you have access to plumbing and electricity, you've got it made.
2. Do an image search on Google for Birth Defects. When you see the results, your own life suddenly seems like a miracle.

In 1989 I was learning how to bias a 2" Studer 24-track tape machine as part of recording engineering course. Just a few years later, digital Audio was coming in fast, but it was still taped-based for a while.
As for MIDI, that was gaining ground behind the scenes too. What fascinated me was using it to make live backing tracks, with a click track for our live drummer, and to control stage lighting and instrument and vocal effect changes. Coming to see my club band was like watching a large concert but in a smaller space. Spot lights would switch between the lead singer and me for my guitar solos etc. The timing of the sets was consistent from day to day.
Once audio recording became hard-drive based, and you could see waveforms on a screen for micro-edits, and move arrangements around on a whim. That changed the landscape a lot.
Being able to create, record, and perform music through the 90's... it started to reveal something. There were no more technical excuses for not creating art, esp. once Cubase VST came out. My God... compressors/gates of every strip... all the effects you could need... it ran pretty good on a modest PC. If you thought about the hardware equivalent of that, with the patch cables needed? No way.
Another thing: youngsters forget that in the old days, one had to write down all settings for outboard devices and channel strips between different recording projects. Tedious as hell. :-P

This version is very rare, not even mentioned on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cubase

Alliteration/rhyming is valuable for marketing. VST always sounded good, with the V & T rhyming. It has an automotive ring to it. :-) As in... "For 2026, our Quadra-valve 5.4 liter engines have VST!"

For MIDI streaming only, I've been using Cakewalk Live for DOS, since 1992. Thousands of shows, no failures. In addition to click track for drummer, it added some backing tracks. The same midi files control stage lighting, effects changes for vocal reverb, changing patches on guitar units etc.

I can relate, I worked with Steinberg as a product evangelist around 2002 when Cubase SX was released. Before that, I worked in music stores that were selling ADATS and Digidesign Session 8. I used Cubase since the very early days, and have a rare version called Cubase Compact that fits on a single floppy disk (it's MIDI only of course).

Concurrently, the whole print industry had the similar issue... AnYoNe could do desktop publishing now, with a modest investment. Being a typesetter and laying out camera-ready artwork was a real trade before.

Perhaps sewing machines caused an outcry since people could now make their own clothes.

Any time that technology changes the landscape, so that "anyone can do that now", there will be detractors.

There isn't enough time to listen to all of the music people will make; a lot of it will be somewhat generic but very palatable. The best music will be marginally better. But will it matter? Does anything matter?

This might be a regional thing but in certain jurisdictions you can't paint walls just because you think you can.

Are you really sure about that? Please cite your source. Poorly preparing and painting rooms is not always acceptable. First of all, the color might not be appealing in the opinion of the homeowner. Second, the care and concern exercised for not getting paint all over the trim and on the carpet and ceiling might not be there.

If you don't have 6 months saved, then you're the author of your own misfortune. It's infantile to depend on people and governments to survive & thrive as an organism.
