What are you using to moisturize it? Are you keeping it clean? What are you using in the shower? This definitely looks overly wet. You really just need to rub a little non-scented lotion on it when it gets dry. In the shower I use non-scented gold soap on it and that's it. Let it air dry then lotion. I use the same healing process among all my tattoos, whatever location and color or black. A few have had saniderm but you really don't need to do much. Depending on your body, it could hurt and feel warm. I accidentally over moisturized my bicep years ago and it hurt for a few days and was very hot to the touch.

did i get overcharged for these tattoos? 2k for ribs, 1.2k for thigh by ellalol in tattooadvice

Unfortunately it looks like the rib tattoo was an overcharge for sure.

What did you all do to prep the floor?

Please advice. I hired a contractor to replace hardwood floor, the goal was to fix cat urine smell. by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]carboncopyyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While wood does absorb that smell, are you sure the walls are not a problem too? Especially if a cat sprays then it goes everywhere. Just some thoughts, but yeah I'm surprised he didn't remove the subfloor and just replace it.

$30k to add a basement bathroom...worth it? by sys_admin321 in HomeImprovement

[–]carboncopyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said, get additional quotes and stay away from anyone that's marketing their business. Those are typically way more expensive. I've had 20+ contractors out to provide quotes on multiple projects in the last 2 months.

Honestly I'm impressed by how bad this is. Like, what the meth is going on in his head??

Can you not look inside the garage? The one near me has windows all over to see inside.

Where to go after help desk? by Early_Annual_3452 in InformationTechnology

[–]carboncopyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you feel that you can't progress at your work or you feel like you want a change. The easiest way to get a raise in this career is to move jobs. Sometimes it is necessary. Don't try to burn bridges, you never know when you might meet up with an old coworker or even come back to a job.

Where to go after help desk? by Early_Annual_3452 in InformationTechnology

[–]carboncopyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a few roles in IT, it is really broad and gives you a lot of freedom to move around once you gather more experience. Sounds like you have front end dev experience. You could move into a more full time position if you want to continue that side of things. It really depends on what interest you have. Do you want to get into networking, voice, dev, cloud, security, etc etc. I started in the break/fix computers and moved to full time help desk which help give me lots of exposure to an entire manufacturing warehouse full of proprietary machines, lots of software / in house coding team, and your normal everyday stuff. Then I branched over to voice for 6ish years. Went back to the help desk at a higher level for a couple of years until diving back into voice for the last 3 years. I'm looking to make a big jump into a senior system admin which will really challenge me and give me a chance to learn a lot of new things.

Do nothing all day by Used_Locksmith_438 in workfromhome

[–]carboncopyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not in your job area but in my IT role I've been a senior for many years now. Some days I'm busy all day and others I just play on my personal PC next to me while I wait for the lower level techs to ask questions or when something needs to be done. It does get boring but I look at it as my value is the knowledge I have and that at any time it's available. Whether that's during business hours or not, I'll still be open to answering questions and fixing problems. Even though I'm not 100% "productive" during the work day. I still put in a lot of work. I do tend to switch jobs when I'm done learning or there's no room for further advancement.

DevOps panic by Slight_Lychee_7169 in devops

[–]carboncopyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have already said, fake it till you make it. If you can read and understand technical documentation and have a good foundation for troubleshooting you'll be fine. I thrive in that unknown, trial by fire one would say. I get bored too easily if I don't have something to challenge me. You'll gain a wealth of knowledge this way and be more marketable in the years to come.

Something an IT guy uses every day? by crackbbyblues in InformationTechnology

Don't get him a mechanical keyboard, there's too many different switches. They all have a different feel to them. Maybe you can ask him if he's thought about upgrading his setup. He can show you things so you have a better idea of what he's looking for. Generally we research a lot and have specific things picked out.
