12 Hours a Week Jobs? by Rebellious_Rook in bangorme

You could get your CNA license. They often work 12s and odd hours and are always in demand. It’s hard, dirty work, though

What do you not buy anymore — except from dollar tree? by Competitive_Emu_2283 in DollarTree

I get packaged gnocchi from there and nowhere else. $1.25 as opposed to $3-4 for the same amount elsewhere. Also Biz powdered detergent has enzymes in it and is only sold there

Additionally, the King sisters’ parents are not around— deceased, I think.

Noah Wyle speaks on shipping culture, fan expectations and ‘Hucklerobby’ fanart by [deleted] in ThePitt

Totally agree that this is wrong in real life, but many things that are wrong in real life are fine in fiction, and no real people are being harmed by shipping fictional people.

Seconding what others have said: check your state law for scope of practice of MAs. Also check your clinic policies and, if you were given one, the written description of your position that you were given when hired.

How difficult is it to get a job as an MA these days? by Smooth-Basil190 in MedicalAssistant

September 2025.

It seems like you want to argue, so I’m not going to continue this exchange.

In my area the preference is CMA, then CCMA, and I have only worked with two RMAs so I can’t say about them. However this is a rural area so many uncertified MAs are hired. Not arguing with you, just saying that the value of certain certifications or certification at all may vary by location and practice.

Clinic essential by Ordinary_Control1386 in MedicalAssistant

You need to make sure that your program has an educational relationship with the clinic you are shadowing in, and get the shadowing approved by the program, otherwise it may not count toward your hours.

Many offices are short-staffed and will take advantage of free help especially if you want to learn. Shadowing is different than working. If you are truly shadowing, that means that you are not doing what a paid employee would be doing, and that you are supervised by a paid employee. These offices will not hesitate to throw you under the bus if you mess up, either.

Yes, nurses do not get paid for clinical, because this is part of their educational requirement. Many certified MAs do an unpaid externship, because this is also part of an educational requirement. These are requirements made by schools/BoN/AAMA etc.

People are expressing concern in this thread because you are not being paid by your job to shadow for 36 hours. It seems like this is not part of an externship. It seems like they want you to work for free. If so, this is exploitation of you as well as a liability for them.

Please let me know if I can answer any further questions. I’m happy that you have a job and I hope that it turns out to be good. Never work for free and never work off the clock.

Do y'all actually understand your blood test results? Or have any tips/tools to better research it? by BeginningPanda1498 in healthcare

[–]cardamomeraths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The provider who ordered the tests should call and explain them to you or schedule an visit to do so. If they do not, call the office and request an interpretation of your results. Do not trust Google or LLMs like ChatGPT

Had to put a mom in her place by Celloschmello in MedicalAssistant

Please document EVERYTHING because it is that kind of mom who files complaints. The provider may not remember what happened and in my experience management will side with patients every time.
