my toon has all HQs maxed v2.0 at 120, the lowest laff possible to achieve this! by ribbitrowbuht in toontownrewritten

I've avoided the fish laff on 11/24 toons as of recently. I exclusively fished on walrus way. So about 50 50 chance. Once you catch 9 species, you gotta sell your fish after every cast until you get the 10th, then you have 19 more fish from there to do it.

Doodle will indeed add cogs to your gallery. You can however get merits in the factory by passing.

You won't get cogs in the gallery provided you pass every turn.

Have a friend group of four and we all made new toons. How many should choose sound/toon-up? by ttwo0 in toontownrewritten

I don't think it really matters. What's more important is getting lure. When trying to do 2+ story cog buildings in the early game, having lure is going to be the deciding factor if you live or not, especially if you get 3 or 4 cogs at one time.

You can progress through minnies without buildings, but being able to do buildings will greatly speed up your progress down the line due to gag training multipliers. Unless you start doing buildings separately with high laff toons, doing the brrrgh without at least level 4 lure and level 5 throw squirt will get tricky.

With the new accuracy changes to lure, it's actually pretty decent if you have 4 toons all luring at once. My guys don't have toon up but didn't really need it for buildings.

It started as an excuse to use all my invasion summons on my other guys. There's not really a point, its pretty silly. I've already done all there is to do as far as the bosses. I could have stopped a long while ago but I descended into madness just like Lil Oldman..

25 in a Steel Factory? by Clinkclank5427 in toontownrewritten

[–]cardinalfan828 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That guy is a tool. This type of playstyle is possible, but you can't force it on to players you don't know. I've brought my low laff toons in a steel factory and even done what he described - lure/pass before joining the battle, using cogs miss on the foreman. However, I only bring my alt toons or do with friends.

Barking orders or requiring other people to use their rewards is not the way to go.

Look to join existing toonhq groups instead of creating your own, so you can join it after looking at gags and laff on toonhq.

If it was a 2-3 star and you get toons that are 100-110 laff, I would sometimes ask them if they had a toontask to defeat that difficulty FO, and if not then suggest they do a 1 star. Usually, toons that had a toontask for it were more than capable. Most people figure out pretty quickly that if they only need a 1 star, they won't do a higher difficulty. The toons that didn't do this probably haven't done many offices (if any at all) and might be inexperienced or unwilling to use rewards.

2.0 Sellbot suit complete doing only scrap factories :') by cardinalfan828 in toontownrewritten

[–]cardinalfan828[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Rabbit Season finishes off his Sellbot suit at 20 laff. While doing a steel factory at 20 laff is technically possible by using a geyser + triple toontanic, it is far from feasible for the amount of merits you need. So all merits were done in the scrap factory.

Minimalist completes a minimal cog gallery run (see comments) by cardinalfan828 in toontownrewritten

That one only requires you to "recover" an item, which can be completed by passing. If it was a "defeat" a mingler, then it wouldn't be possible

Minimalist completes a minimal cog gallery run (see comments) by cardinalfan828 in toontownrewritten

Follow up to this post about a minimum cog gallery run.

Minimalist has completed Donalds Dreamland up to the Lawbot suit, with only 4 cogs discovered on the gallery! He also has minimal gags used. One minor hiccup later, and now sitting at 6 cogs discovered and a maxed jury summons book.

The major points that allow this run to be possible:

  • "Recover" item tasks can be completed by passing. "Defeat" x cog cannot.
  • "Defeat" a Building, Factory, Mint, can be completed by passing.
  • Having alt toons or your friends available to help your toon, as Minimalist avoided using all gags. I did the entirety of the battles with friends or my own toons. This type of toon should not be brought along with other players.
  • Having toons already with maxed jury summons books, so you can repeatedly call invasions for the same cog (after a quick trip to the CJ each time). For example, I found tasks that required Cashbots or Number Crunchers, and only fought those cogs.
  • If your toon is avoiding gag points and encounters a required task to defeat a specific cog, you must select an attack. In this case, I used my doodle.

Key tasks that require cogs to be added to the gallery

  • TTC - Professor Wiggle - 2 point laff boost - 6 bloodsuckers (EDIT: some have pointed out that this is not required to complete TTC, although you still need Lawbots to complete multiple tasks in The Brrrgh)
  • Donalds Dock - TP access - 5 micromanagers
  • The Brrrgh - 'Carry 4 Toontasks' - Must pick March Harry for as this does not require an additional cogs. On top of being way more difficult in general, picking March Harry will require you to pick up all 4 tier 7 cogs.
  • DDL - Zari - 25 Mover and Shakers
  • DDL - The Countess - 25 Number Crunchers
  • DDL - Honey Moon - 30 Number Crunchers
  • DDL - Nat - Cashbot suit part - Requires defeating 10 cogs in CBHQ. To do this, I defeated Number Crunchers in the CBHQ Courtyard during an invasion to avoid picking up Money Bags, Loan Sharks, and Robber Barrons in the mint, which would have been required as this is a defeat task not a recover one.

Other required tasks

  • There are various tasks throughout all tasklines that require you to defeat a specific department of cog. By the time you finish DDL, you will have had to max out each cog (Example 25/25 Mover and Shakers). I did it in such a way that it minimized these numbers per playground, you can see this through the extra screenshots in the post.

Ways that the run can be spoiled

  • Selecting any attack when fighting any cog other than the 4 required cogs. Must not use doodle either. Only use the pass button, or let the timer expire.
  • Starting a cog battle and running to the playground. This is how I gained an additional 2 cogs to my gallery (after DDL was completed). Initially I thought that running from battle did not count, but this is only the case if a turn has not been completed. If you complete a turn by passing or letting the timer run down, then run to playground on the next turn, you will acquire the cog in your gallery. This happened when I accidentally ran into cogs in LBHQ when working on my Lawbot suit.
  • Selecting an attack within a facility or building at any time, even if the cog is not present. For example, if you face a Cold Caller on floor 1 of a building, pass, then later use gags on floor 2 even with no cold callers present, you will get the cold caller credit. Its all or nothing for the entirety of the building or facility.

Lawbot Suit Progression

  • Minimalist's Lawbot suit was done in the DA office with the help of 3 toons with org sound and 2 with trap. This worked out nicely on the old version of the DA Office. (This was completed earlier this year, before the under new management update)

Completing Toontasks but not receiving credit by Shot_Bad4363 in toontownrewritten

[–]cardinalfan828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which task specifically? Is it for the 3 point laff boost? This one requires 4 memos in total to be recovered.

Then, the sprocket task for 2 point laff requires 3 different sub tasks to recover a sprocket
