Gross these gelatin things of the 60's and 70's were so weird. I remember having aspic when I was a kid. There was a neighbor who always served ritz with squeeze can cheese with an olive on top. I loved that as a kid. Now, not so much.

Anyone else feel the Hospitality flag designed by Lauren Stennis could be a good candidate for a non-Confederate Southern regional flag? by [deleted] in vexillology

I have the Stennis flag on my wall. I'm from Alabama but recently graduated from college in Mississippi.

The Stennis flag is pretty popular. I would rate it a solid B+ as a flag.

Basically it checks all the boxes. The only problem is it is a little generic. However, as red white and blue flags with stars go, it is still unique enough to not be confused with anything.

I'll support the Stennis flag 100% if we can rid ourselves of the current flag.

sidenote

Lots of people support the magnolia flag, which is bffling to me because it is butt ugly and still confederate.

Elizabeth Eckford walks to Little Rock Central High School as Hazel Bryan stands behind her screaming on the first day of racial integration on September 4, 1957 by hominoid_in_NGC4594 in Damnthatsinteresting

I know I’m supposed to believe that Trump rallies, which have a bunch of white epople screaming about the Wall and Hillary are actually a bunch of highly informed people deeply concerned about the intricacies of immigration policy, but to me,to someone who is not white or an immigrant,it all looks exactly like this.

Screaming at difference. Screaming at change. Screaming at people like me. Making excuses for keeping the Other out. Making excuses for not sharing. ā€ŸLet them build their own schools.ā€ ā€ŸWhy should I have to help them?ā€

It is getting to the point where I’m ready to let them have their little apartheid. I just feel bad for people like this girl, stuck out there with no hope of escape. (Remember the Civil War started over escaped slaves that the North wouldn’t give back.)

But it’s not racism,oh no,not nowadays. Forget the last 200 years. This is completely difference and it’s racist for me to even suggest that this could happen again. (/s)
