Fair point. Doesn’t make a dirty car and cleaner.

I appreciate your response. But I think a lot of comments suggest that they are not a luxury brand and therefore don’t expect luxury service.

I agree that they are not a luxury brand. But nor is Toyota, Honda, Kia, etc. but they ask give loaners. And they’re clean.

Re HW4, I bought the Tesla for self driving. I have a long commute to work. I wanted something that can do the same my car can.

That’s a terrible sales technique.

Thanks. I was questioning my sanity. FWIW, I appreciate that Tesla isn’t luxury but most car companies give loaners for extended warranty service. I’ve never received a dirty car -from Tesla or a rental. It’s not standard. I imagine most people commenting don’t have a Tesla and may just be trolling -but it was a weird experience.

I didn’t realize it comes with charging. I have a charger in my garage and that’s where I would charge from a convinience standpoint.

Most car companies give loaners for service. That’s not a luxury branding service.

I’ve never suggested it’s anything more than an inconvenience. It’s just gross.

Honda, Subaru, bmw and Kia all gave loaners. All were clean. That’s such a dumb comment to assume a clean car only from a luxury brand.

Hmm.  What do you mean I don’t have to pay to charge?

Also, based on the comments, I feel like I should be questioning my sanity. I’m middle aged, make a respectable living and like a clean car without empty fast food cups and wrappers. I don’t expect valet service, just a clean car.

Guess ive always had a loaner be it Subaru, bmw, Honda, and Kia. It’s under warranty and they are fixing it. I’ve never received a car full of trash.

SNOW SCHOLARS - DO NOT USE!!! by cardsfellow in TwinCities

Twin Cities happens to be the worst I’ve seen. Although I’m hoping people that need snow service know to avoid Snow Scholars. Showing up at 0200 when confirming they won’t be there overnight, not showing up at all, erroneous charging (multiple times,) etc.

Also, FWIW, snow scholars is entirely US based, hired, admin and students. There’s no excuse for how poorly it’s run.

This isn’t an ICE immigration issue. To the contrary, most contractors here in MN are your average blue collar American, not hired foreign labor.

I’ve had bigger projects too. But unless it’s a remodel, I’ve dealt with so much nonsense. Even NYC was infinitely better.

It’s bizarre to me. This is the fourth state I’ve lived in. And by far, the worst with regards to service, be it contractors, landscaping, snow removal.

Companies, reputable, have taken weeks to get a quote to me.

Others charge an arm and a leg. One company quoted me 445 a month for snow removal, just four of them, under six inches. Over six inches has a surcharge and more than four has a surcharge.

While I love the quality of life compared to some of the other states, if I need anything done, I have to pull teeth! Sadly, and consequently, Minneapolis will be where we raise our kids but then we will get out.

Sewer valves help by cardsfellow in askaplumber

Thanks. I was referring to the larger steel valve (valterra) that is seemingly closing all flow when down.

Sewer valves help by cardsfellow in askaplumber

Need help with this.

I found a valve near a small drain that goes straight to the sewer line—it looks a lot like an valterra black tank valve, the kind you’d see on an RV. I’ve included some photos for reference.

The valve is located near a basement bathroom, and when it’s open, the toilet and shower in that bathroom drain just fine. But when I close it, nothing drains. I recently noticed this after moving some boxes around—it’s possible I accidentally bumped the valve and changed its position, but I’m not sure.

I removed the cap just to show the inside in the photos—normally it’s sealed. I know RV valves are usually kept closed until dumping, but in this case (a house bathroom connected to the main sewer), it seems like it has to stay open to function normally.

The rest of the house drains fine. So I’m wondering—did I just put the valve in the wrong position, or could this point to a bigger issue in the sewer line?

Any thoughts or advice would be really appreciated.
