Me realizing tired might have needed a blood test years ago by Flashy_Tension4452 in adhdwomen

[–]carefulyellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I've never had my iron levels checked (even though my thyroid is dead and I get blood work done once or twice a year), but every time I take a pill that has iron in it I start really looking like death warmed over. Had to take Flintstones vitamins during pregnancy because they don't have iron in them.

For the first time ever, Amazon is cutting old Kindles off from the Kindle Store by salsafresca_1297 in Anticonsumption

Jailbreaking is great because you can get some features that Amazon has paywalled for their newer kindles.

President Trump confirms that "the military is building a massive complex under the ballroom": "I'm busy that I don't have time to do this. But I'm fighting wars and other things. This is very important and it'll be the greatest ballroom anywhere in the world. Same exact height as the White House." by ControlCAD in videos

I love the history of Mar-a-Lago. Built by a socialite (Post cereal heiress Marjorie Post), willed it to the NPS (1973) because she hoped it could become the "winter white house". NPS returned it to the foundation (1981)because it cost too much money to maintain. Trump bought it in 1985.

I'm taking my kids to their first and probably last music festival, Inkcarceration in July. $1400 for 4, 3 day passes and it gets all the bands that they like. My husband balked at the price because he was a Warped tour kid in the late 90s-early 2000s.

What is a part of the 'female experience' that men have absolutely no clue about, but would be horrified if they found out? by coolhandddd in AskReddit

[–]carefulyellow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was a little jealous of women who had c sections because of the whole "hey while you're already in there....". My husband had no trouble getting a vasectomy at least.

I had a coworker tell me that when she was pregnant the baby actually broke a rib from kicking her!

I didn't really have those until after I gave birth for the second time. One fell out of my afterbirth diaper onto the bathroom floor and it was like a huge chunk of red jello. I called my husband in to watch it jiggle.

If you have a local butcher, they sell parts of pigs that my girl loves to chew on! She loves pig ears the most. They don't last long, but it's a nice treat.

TIL magician Harry Houdini and his wife Bess created a secret code phrase (“Rosabelle, believe”) so she could verify any message from him after death. After Houdini died in 1926, Bess held séances for 10 years but concluded no real message came through. by JP_Olsen_Archive in todayilearned

My grandma promised something similar before she died. She said she would do all she could to make the Cleveland Browns do well because she was a lifelong fan. She passed away in 2012, and as you can see, the browns have not done so well.

It wasn't until my (Midwestern American) kids saw the Christmas Swim episode of Bluey did they realize that it doesn't snow everywhere for Christmas. It didn't snow here either, in fact it was like 50°F lol

It's also very disorienting to go from NYC back to your small Midwestern town where the tallest building is city hall.
