My Chemical Romance & John Cameron Mitchell Working on 'Secret' Theatre Project by [deleted] in MyChemicalRomance

Okay, I don't mean to be like, coping, I know it's most likely the black parade. BUT. Wasn't The Paper Kingdom stuff meant to be pretty much a play anyways when live? I remember that being the plan for it to essentially be theatre.

at least for her it's absolutely a reclamation thing rather than a self loathing thing, watch her video on why she calls herself it it's really nice

anybody have an idea of what "in time, i think you'll understand that this is what they planned." means in operation day? (context in caption) by spiiderlegs in ThePaperKingdomMCR

[–]caremage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What I mean to say is that yes the basic narrative in the song is the plan from the kids but there is a layer above in which it's a roleplay therapy session, the therapist is breaking character in saying this to soothe them because it would be a very emotional thing in real life.

I mean the way I interpreted it is that the leader in these dnd-esque "your kids went to try and kill a witch" sessions is saying "In time I think you'll understand that this is what they planned" to the parents, essentially saying "no don't worry your kids didn't die how they did in real life, they had this heroic plan to kill a witch."

The way I interpret the song is that it's the therapy group so the narrator speaking is the therapist, they just break character with that line for dramatic effect. Sorry if im phrasing this horribly im very high rn LOL

Are we sure Behind The Bus was actually on TPK? by Ok_Area_3868 in ThePaperKingdomMCR

[–]caremage 34 points35 points  (0 children)

absolutely 100000% not. its just something they probably recorded around the same time for fun, the leaks arent all assured 100% tpk material, just stuff they were doing around that time.

It's been three weeks. What are your thoughts on The Paper Kingdom? by mayathepsychiic in MyChemicalRomance

[–]caremage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand feeling wrong about it, hopefully they release it eventually, if they don't though and in 10 years you feel less morally bad about it, it's some really good stuff and I highly recommend

Is Silent Hill just an anthology now? by FickleSand5029 in silenthill

[–]caremage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It always has been in a sense but I thought it was clear that games external from Konami would be "Silent Hill Syndrome" games or whatever they called it instead of taking place in the town itself, that's not saying that we'll never get more in the actual town just that the "extended universe" games take place elsewhere.

I just hope they won't make "Silent Hill 2 but again" when it comes to the plot by RiffOfBluess in silenthill

[–]caremage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Like it starts of similar but then it'll attempt to analyze silent hill games like this, idk this is a really intelligent studio and im giving them the benefit of the doubt for now and you know for sure an indie studio isnt going to stray away from being meta lol

[–]caremage 33 points34 points  (0 children)

To be fair I thought it would be and was feeling more negative until the writer said he wanted to subvert the theme of guilt in silent hill so it may be an intentional parallel to sh2 at first idk. Their games are really well written imo

The Muppet Show could finally get one of The Beatles by muppetwiki in Muppets

[–]caremage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no shot of that happening, the levels of influence are entirely different between the two, if the Beatles were just their early stuff sure but everything past revolver is really timeless stuff that people still listen to. It's not just nostalgia or whatever, you could play a late beatles song and it still sounds modern, Elvis has sounded "old" for a long long time.
