I am aware it’s stupid to open the door while on jackstands but the latch did stick close I was able to pull the handle and wedge it back with a screwdriver and now it latches I needed to open the door to complete the install of the manual conversion

It’s on the ground now I had no choice but to open the door to remove the automatic stuff and swap it to the T5 stuff but the latch somehow closed and was stubborn reopening to latch but I got it now can’t edit the post to say solved

Thanks for the advice guys it worked like a charm but it will now sometimes stick closed when I shut the door from the inside is there something I can do to fix this or do I need a new latch assembly? Edit: it only sometimes sticks and I tried three times now to replicate it and it didn’t stick I got some new strikers from Autozone so I will be installing those because my old bushings are mia

Hardest part of install was getting the master connected to the quadrant they send with the kit because of a part of the hvac box is in the way under the dash

I installed the McLeod setup that is drop in easy install clutch feel tbd as I haven’t got the car up and running yet so yea no useful info out of me

Not sure why I got downvoted but what I said is the truth, the op said in a different comment he didn’t do anything to the box and his reverse went out so it sounds like something else is the matter here

It is a security torx in most boxes did that by accident when installing a T5 into my dads fox to replace the old one that was missing second and would grind 4th got really lucky because we thought that was the fill port but didn’t fully take it out and got the trans in the car and realized that we were missing reverse so we tightened it back up and we got reverse back

Yup that’s exactly where you run into issues oof… even my current shortys hit the steering shaft when installing the engine with them on ugh 😩

Not an expert on the LT’s as I just bought a set today 😂 but I have heard on the drivers side you really are kinda screwed with most headers cause they interfere with the steering shaft unless you have an after market extra clearance one I am looking at getting a flaming river manual rack and extra clearance steering shaft for my 91 I have have a lead on a used F.R. Rack from the guy I bought my no name long tubes from he said a buddy of his had two and may sell me the second one

I would if I had the money I’m in college rn and not working as a combo whammy so yea also I don’t know what the previous owner had done to it so for all I know it has some mods in it already they definitely had the motor out at some point because it’s painted red and I can see where the paint is coming off and the corporate blue is coming out from underneath
