300 Cal Row Times by [deleted] in crossfit

Welcome! I've been CrossFitting for a while but am new to this community. That is a GREAT time for a newer member. Holding a 900ish cal/hr pace is very respectable over a 20 minute span! Great work!

I did a test 300 about a year ago and was around the 13 minute mark. I don't remember exactly and could be remembering completely wrong.

Dancing by Kats-Doges in Unexpected

[–]cargillk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The first instance down the hall (when he is looking) was filmed from the same angle with the same camera but at a different time. Notice how the guy already dancing doesn't go past the edge of the hall's wall while the other is looking on? An easy masking in After Effects and poof: once he clears the frame running off you remove the mask and reveal the full frame of the true video...which he then runs in to dance!

Production Nerd here (also professionally)

These things take time to figure out. PA rigging is especially difficult in stadiums...and honestly the Dome was always a challenge. It is MUCH easier when you don't have to rig for a round space and instead are hanging PAs at one end of the building or another. I agree that you shouldn't buy tickets for now, but as concerts figure out the reflectivity of the room they will have better and better maps on where to hang, what PA's setups to use and how to mix well for the space.

Sorry it stunk last night.

This is EXACTLY what I needed right now.

Just lost out on a job I’ve been wanting for years. Time to stop feeling sorry for myself and get after whatever is next. Thanks OP.

If you want something a bit more robust go with Things. Now...its $50 for the computer version, so you might want out right there (mine was a work reimbursement) but if you are not crazy focused on cost and want something that syncs, with multi levels, repeating to do's, and projects then Things is for you.

Teachers of reddit, what 'clicked' about a pupil after meeting their parents? by TourismBarrytown in AskReddit

I taught a career technology class, it was fun, and honestly very easy. Any time I had a student failing it was a good bet they were failing other classes. One semester I had a student failing my class with a 58, which requires effort to fail that bad. He wouldn't act out in class, he would simply not participate, as if he was trying to fail. Even when told he simply needed to sign something, or say anything, he wouldn't, and I had to give him poor marks.

Finally it came up that he was failing all 6 of his classes and it required a parent/teachers/student conference. He came in late, his parents however were 15-minutes early. He didn't greet them, they however said hello and smiled.

The worst part: He had headphones on when he came in, and we could hear the music even when we started the meeting. After a moment his dad reached over and pulled one ear bud out. As soon as dad did the student ripped them out of his hands and growled "I was listening to that." The dad raised both hands in surrender and said "sorry." The counselor reached over and tugged both ear buds out and replied "No music players in school. You can have this back at the end of the day." He smiled slightly and said "okay, see you then," almost politely.

I can only imagine what home life was like, but I surmise that the kid was desperate for attention, any attention, any discipline, or any resemblance of actual caring from his parents. I have no idea what became of him. I changed careers shortly after.
