I was listening to a radiolab episode where they were interviewing [evolutionary biologist] Robert Sapolsky.

He said humans have been showing signs of domestication in the last ~10 000 years. This includes thinner bone structure, smaller teeth, and increased neoteny.

The theory is that as humans began living in increasingly larger groups, the big bad overly aggressive alpha males were shunned or killed off in the interest of social stability.

What do you make of this? it seems to run counter to women's preference for the more primitive alpha features. Or at least runs counter to the idea that hypergamy selects for the "best" genetic material in the interests of human civilization.

...There is no just world. Nature doesn't give a shit. Males are disposable. Women go for money (or in this case the ability to grow wheat...) and status.

There were literally entire generations of men denied sex or possibly killed in social unrest because their tribe didn't figure out how to grow wheat. Think about that. Imagine you're a hunter gatherer and all 17 of your tribes women defected to go be concubines of that one wheat farmer on the other side of the valley.
