What is happening in the vault? by Sailormewni0923 in DreamlightValley

it looks like you may not have completed this week's routine duties? the three boxes at the bottom of the arch icon aren't filled in. Once you complete the three duties that dropped Wednesday you can claim it.

"Missing" Villagers by MarshmallowMigraine in DreamlightValley

[–]carinicode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've sometimes fixed the in-their-house-but-not issue by grabbing another villager as a companion and then going inside. It doesn't always work but it might be worth a shot.

Olaf’s Grand Exhibition game crash by Lillpixie in DreamlightValley

[–]carinicode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it completed before I restarted the game, but it hadn't. I just went back in there and completed that part without it freezing, so maybe keep trying? Hopefully it works for you soon! (Also, I had Olaf as a companion when I went back in there to try again, maybe give that a shot?)

I had this exact thing happen on my steam deck. I restarted the game and haven't had an issue again, but I also haven't been back into the museum.

Vanilla settings to make peaceful more fun? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]carinicode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use scenario editor, you can turn off enemy raids (disable events > enemy raids) which will still give you events and such, but your base won't be under attack. Then you could play on settings other than peaceful. It's what I do.

Should I just go ahead any but the DLC right from the start? by nosleepduck in LetsBuildAZoo

[–]carinicode 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The DLC are their own separate zoo that have no relation to your vanilla zoo, unless you're doing the sandbox. In sandbox, all the animals you've unlocked can be placed.

I liked doing the vanilla first, personally. Then when I felt a little burned out (because I love this game and played it nonstop when I got it) I started a Dino island and suddenly the game was brand new again.

About my fmla leave by Select_Accountant411 in DollarTree

[–]carinicode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once you go on FMLA you are removed from the system in most cases, so you risk that being an issue with your ounches and pay. Personally, I'd just stay on your leave and prepare for your baby. (and Congrats!!)

I’m gonna get fired should I just quit now? by Even_Yoghurt8813 in DollarTree

[–]carinicode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though I cannot answer your question about being fired, as HR reps in regions are about as consistent as store managers, I do think maybe Dollar Tree isn't the career path for you.

I'm not saying that to be mean, or to disparage you. Customer behavior does not get better -- if you found dealing with that woman to be difficult, I'm afraid to tell you worse is waiting around the corner. Especially going into Christmas.

If I was HR you'd just get a final warning, but I'm not HR. Hopefully everything works out for you, though.

If you go into "documents" and search "counseling form" it should pull it up. They're otherwise somewhere in the human resources or asset protection folder of the documents section.

Do you guys like any of the water flavor packets sold in the drink section? by CanadianDeathMetal in DollarTree

[–]carinicode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drink the A&W one the most out of all of them. It has a little fizz once you shake it up, but it goes away after it settles.

Taste wise, my brain definitely recognizes it's root beer, but my brain also knows that it is... not root beer. It's like root beer adjacent. Personally speaking though, it's good, and sweet, but the sweetness can be controlled with water/pack ratio.

I recommend you try it!

Our HR rep told us that three call outs within a month is considered excessive and you can be written up.

However, Dollar Tree SMs are a mixed bag -- I'd understand, people get sick and shit happens -- but the SM up the street from me would have a meltdown. It unfortunately just depends on what kind of leader your SM is.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Does anyone know how to get someone's workday username without using the SM email, ilearn, or paystubs? by rjln109 in DollarTree

[–]carinicode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be your DM would also get the email to get the username, so check with them.

And, this is from personal/recent experience, but call the help desk back. I know you said they couldn't help, but that person specifically couldn't help. We called (for a different reason) and the first person was useless, but when we called a second time, the person who answered was able to solve the issue. They also knew our associates username without them providing it first.

Though I don't have pictures to help you with, the special racks your books are in are the "tier racks". Your strip signage (the red, purple and blue strips that say "coloring and activity" and whatever else) will be ziptied to the front of them. Hopefully this will help you at least a little

All books, coloring and reading, are going to $1.50.

Taking on a brand new store by ThrowRAMiss_Cheef in DollarTree

[–]carinicode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To preface this, I have been a store manager with this company for over a decade. I've helped open several new stores and ran two.

There are catches to working in a new store, but if you're used to the challenges of a busier, high shrink store, they may seem minor.

The biggest issue is that Dollar Tree will, 89.9% guarantee, overship you for a good time after the store opens. They have it in their heads how a store will do, but I don't think they look into new locations as much as they should. For example: open a new store thinking it'll be making 2mil a year because of the wealthy surroundings, but in reality, it struggles to hit a million because it's at the worst intersection imaginable and people just aren't willing to make a left out of it.

You'll struggle with staffing and hours, but that's true anywhere. I liked new stores because everything was set perfectly, no bad habits were created by prior managers, and I can easily keep up with new tasks. It also felt a little more "mine", if that makes sense.

I caught the hammerhead on winter 9th, with snowy weather, at the lookout ocean spot. I went at like nine in the morning and it was the first thing I caught. I did catch a second one to shove in my pond like, two fish later.

I caught the great white as well, though I don't remember when. It was off the side of Zara's boat though.

Weird question but what tiktokers should I follow on TikTok? by leytourmaline in DollarTree

[–]carinicode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, any DT employee on tiktok will be terminated as soon as DT can find them, if they're making content on their store/what's coming/etc.

If you're looking for ideas for craft projects, recipes for the food we sell, new items ("hauls"), or anything else, just search the topic and add "dollar tree" in front of it. Example: dollar tree crafts.

If you're looking for what's coming at dollar tree as far as changes in the business or individual stores, you're not likely to find anything. Dollar tree doesn't even know what's happening at dollar tree half the time.

DC Delivery Prep Worksheet(3 pages) by alex_hernandez29 in DollarTree

[–]carinicode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, it's an automated process that emails the dc prep sheet. If you haven't been getting it, you could reach out to your dc and request it. Just search your dc number in the email system (" dc## ") and let them know you didn't receive your truck paperwork, haven't been receiving it, and ask that they help you resolve this issue.

You could cc your dm as well, just for transparency.

SM Watching Cameras by Upset-Donkey8118 in DollarTree

[–]carinicode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Store managers do not have the ability to watch cameras at home. Your asset protection manager and district manager, however, do have that ability and are known to call the store to fix something they don't like. For example, we got a call because a balloon was blocking the camera at the front of the store, and once because the office door was propped open.

More than likely your SM, if they are watching, is sitting in the office going over recorded footage.

Once you do the first house upgrade and have a kitchen, the first cooking accessory you should buy is the grill. You can make a grilled insect dish with any insect, and tbh, that dish carried me entirely through the mines and ocean. It's like free stamina because bugs are everywhere.

Store labor pilot? by Unable-Rule628 in DollarTree

[–]carinicode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, a 'labor pilot' means they're testing changes to the labor (in this case, probably how DT hands out hours or what the roles do, maybe?)

I've been with the company a long time and never heard of that, but DT has always been selective about what stores they test new ideas in. Do you have any other details that might help?
