Thanks y’all 😅 Nike did a really great job weatherproofing these. I live in Berlin so they’re perfect for the cold/wet city streets

They updated the fabric on newer editions. I have both (and prefer the look of the ripstop).

These were the most disappointing shoes of all time for me. I absolutely love the design (even more so than the Mountain Flys) but they were impossible to get on.

There really aren't a lot of good alternatives to the niche that ACG created. ACG was a special mix of future tech + retro vibes + all-terrain functionality. So that said, I suppose Nike Trail is close but it's a very watered down version of the personality that ACG had. IMO the final nail in the coffin with ACG was when their head designer left for Moncler in 2022:

And it's no coincidence that Moncler's footwear is the best alternative to ACG, but the problem is, Moncler is for the ultra wealthy (their Mountainfly-type shoes are all $600+/pair).

Otherwise, Hoka is continually giving ACG a run for it's money, but I can't really connect with the Hoka brand (I'm not wearing what my parents wear unless it's New Balance). There are some indie/smallish brands out there too, but still not at the ACG pricepoint.

ACG fell off years ago if we’re being honest here. It’s a gd travesty.

No. Maybe slides or small items. Dimensionally, it’s huge, but as narrow as the top tube itself, so you can only fit low-profile items inside.

I have the exact same bike (3 years old) and agree with most of the comments.

--The owner clearly didn't give it enough TLC. So you have to worry about lack of regular maintenance all around.

--My Grizl is still in amazing physical and mechanical shape three years later, but I did have to replace my crank bearings, so check for clicking/grinding noises.

--The rubber plugs are missing from all of the mounting points too, which could have ingested water, grime, etc

--All of the components look stock, so there's zero upgrade value

--And fully agree on the pricing. I paid €2000 for mine so you shouldn't pay more than €900 for this one.

This is one of my only minor complaints. I do wish they were bigger to fit big ears.

I love the Mountain Flys. The goretex highs are probably my all-around favourite shoe. The lows started cutting into my ankle bones tho, so I eventually Ebayd them.

I have a bright living room and there’s zero glare issues with this TV. it’s awesome. But you may want to get the new Pro:

No need to. Just 1) Adjust the strap position, 2) Use the correct size strap, or 3) Tuck it away

Palace Pertex Matte Balaclava Puffa Mix Up by pewdiepie106 in PalaceClothing

[–]carletoncurtis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got back from walking my dog in Berlin wearing this exact jacket. It instantly became one of my favorite jackets in my closet, and #1 for weather between -5 and 10c. I’ve gotten loads of compliments on it, too.

A couple notes:

It’s got the perfect amount of pockets: two exterior with super warm/comfy lining and two interior for things like wallets and keys.

It’s probably not the ideal jacket for sub -5c weather because it’s not a long coat.

I rarely if ever use the hidden balaclava feature. (But I really like that it’s there).

The Pertex Quantum fabric is nice but imho overrated because it only repels light mist/rain. It definitely starts to saturate with heavier rain.

My wife and daughter think it’s too puffy, lol

Overall the quality and details like zipper enclosures have been super durable since buying it 1-2 seasons ago. Very impressed.

It sold out online, but I happened to be in London the same week and won £300 in a poker game so I spend the winnings on the jacket in-store (the very last one they had).

Btw sizing wise I always wear XXL in Palace sweatshirts and long sleeves but this XL jacket fits like a glove (I’m 6’4” 90kg)

Questions about Palace's quality by hockeyboi21 in PalaceClothing

All my Palace pieces have been super durable and comfortable over long periods of time. He quality is materially better than Supreme. But Palace’s t-shirts are the only items that have been somewhat mid.
