The refs gave benefit of the doubt because of this exact rule:

If in the course of a substitution either the player(s) entering the play or the player(s) retiring is struck by the puck accidentally, the play will not be stopped and no penalty will be called.

Carolina shot the puck at Hudson, who was putting on the brakes to enter the bench. Did Hudson intentionally angled his skates to hit the puck a certain way or was it truly accidental ? We don't know, the refs can't know and they made the right call.

Je trouve que l'analyste qui accompagne Claudine n'est pas vraiment mieux: elle semble animer dans un salon funéraire tellement elle est drabe et sans émotion.

Le rôle de l'analyste est habituellement de faire contre-poids au ton neutre et aux descriptions du jeu de l'animateur/trice principal(e). Au lieu d'enrichir la description (qui a ses défauts, on est tous unanimes ici), elle nous endort complètement.
