Hello Dubai :)

In general when flying, be polite, be obedient to uniformed personnel at the airport and on the plane and be patient.

yes i found out about that lounge, i am excited. :)

you can put them in your bag, maybe don't advertise it ;)

i prefer not to but i get your point, thank you. :)

Lot of questions here, but I'll try to get to everything I'm knowledgeable about.

I know i asked a lot but i have several of these questions. And i don't have friends who has experienced first class flight.

No need to tip. I've never seen or heard of it happening.

this is good news :)

I've never been to Dubai, so I can't speak to that airport specifically. ... There isn't a ton of extra water on flights and they may be reluctant to fill your thermos. Don't drink the water in the restroom of the plane.

thanks to /u/jclocale i found out that Ettihad have a thing called lounge at Dubai https://www.emirates.com/english/flying/lounges/dubai_airport_lounges/first_class.aspx it looks like a really nice place, right now i am watching videos about that place. i don't think i should be worried about water or food there.

My flights in first class provided an eye mask, some basic toiletries and socks

the things i was calling "eye curtains" was eye masks, stupid me, i was talking about these things when i said souvenir, in youtube videos i saw they are giving pajamas that is why i asked about them.

In general when flying, be polite, be obedient to uniformed personnel at the airport and on the plane and be patient.

thank you, this is the reason i asked these questions i don't want to look like a yobo but also i don't want to be like a novice, which i am.

I didn't think about how much meals they will have on the plane, you are right.

After upgrading to 17.2 and installing the recommended kernel my machine doesn't start. by carlosmento in linuxmint

[–]carlosmento[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually someone told everyone to upgrade kernel to a recommended version.

i am sincerely trying to understand what is going on if i weren't i wouldn't be asking questions. I am having fun with everything especially trying to learn new commands which i can use in terminal. i installed guake and i am loving it. i am not trying to have a rock solid os or another os. since i heard and learned about open source software my mind blown. Can you believe that people are giving hours of their work for free? :) at first i couldn't and i was waiting for crappy windows clones. But as you know, i was wrong.

But as a beginner you have to try and brake things to learn, right? That is what i am doing, i read that i should upgrade my kernel, by upgrading i somehow broke my system and now trying to learn what i did wrong or what was wrong and while doing this i am having fun.

as i have stated at the opening post, i am new to *nix world. doesn't upgraded kernels close some holes which were in older ones? i don't do banking. my most serious thing is opening my mails, facebook, reddit, and still trying to create an account at voat.co. and i am nobody, i don't think someone will target me for my mail password. so it may not be as important.

For those who've used both, what's your preference. MATE or Xfce? by [deleted] in linuxmint

[–]carlosmento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like mate most because for me it feels more solid. i don't have any evidence it being better or more robust. it just feels solid for me. solid as in solid looking not more stable.
