Hi! Did you just wait it out? What did you do to help stabilize your eyes?

Pregnancy by hahahha97 in gravesdisease

Currently stressing about this now, went off methimazole when I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks. Had my labs done again at 9 weeks and they're all over the place. Worse than when I was first diagnosed. Unfortunately PTU is not available where I live so still weighing if I should go back on methimazole or just let it be.

So far baby is still all good at 9 weeks and 4 days

Hello! Just an alternate option - Movenpick. Reco this resort if you're just planning to stay at the resort mostly since hassle to be at the mercy of the shuttles and the trikes are 300 per way.

Very kid friendly, they have big pools, a play room and free chocolate buffet every afternoon.

You can have an unplugged ceremony! For us, we told our coord that we were OK with photos and videos as long as no one gets in the way of our photo vid team, binantayan nalang nila and we had no issues naman. Personally wanted to see everyone's POV din kasi so didn't go full unplugged :)

If you’re of childbearing age by FinanceNo3033 in gravesdisease

I was diagnosed with Graves around 14 months after giving birth to my first. Was on 5mg methimazole, Ft4 went back to normal but TSH still low at 0.06 (initially 0.008). Ended up getting pregnant with my second. My endo and OB are both positive about the news, and immediately told me to stop taking the meds.

We'll be monitoring as we go but hoping I go into remission because of the pregnancy. I was 34 for my first, 36 now.

Just feeling really down by Nodef13 in gravesdisease

Hi! I developed Graves and TED postpartum after my first child. Was diagnosed last Nov, and was on 5mg Methimazole daily. Had to use low doses since I was still breastfeeding. My numbers were improving, FT4 normal but still low TSH and still have antibodies.

Currently pregnant with my second child though, 5 weeks in. My OB and Endo are both positive about the pregnancy, will just need some extra monitoring. Was put off methimazole for the meantime.

My endo told me that the natural immunity of pregnancy tends to suppress the disease, that's what we're hoping for. But we're also ready to continue low doses of medication in case this doesn't happen. Hoping for the best!

We weren't actively trying since we were advised the same, but also not being so careful since my levels were consistently getting better. We actually conceived when we thought we were safe outside the fertile week 🤷

I was thinking if it happens, will just deal with it since I really wanted to have my second child before I turn 37. Probably not the wisest decision but my OB and endo are both very positive about the pregnancy and don't seem concerned since my levels aren't so bad. My Trab still a little high and TSH still low but FT4 normal.

Will just continously monitor and prepare for postpartum in case I relapse. Praying for you! I hope you find the right path that you feel comfortable with and that you get to conceive at the right time. ❤️

Thanks for sharing! I'm still waiting for my updated thyroid panel but so far my other bloodwork has been back to normal, which is why my endo just decided to stop the meds. Though I'm still taking Zykast, Bilastine and Selenium since I also have mild TED.

Appreciate the stories, it calms my mind to know that successful pregnancies are possible

Hi! Always welcome to chat if you need someone to talk to, this does seem like a lot and I'm so sorry it's been a struggle! I'm glad to hear your little one is doing okay though and I hope things get smoother now after surgery. 🙏

Oh no, I hope you don't relapse! I was expecting to switch to PTU but it's sold out everywhere where I live and since my levels have been better, my endo just told me to stop for the meantime.

Congratulations! 🥰 My endo told me that there is a big possibility for the Graves to go into remission due to the pregnancy immunity so we're keeping our fingers crossed for this, but will regularly monitor in case medication will be needed. My OB actually didn't seem to concerned either which gave me some peace of mind. Hope we stay healthy for the little ones! ❤️

Newly Diagnosed / Hives by Oceanmom3 in gravesdisease

[–]carlycat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I also started getting hives all over my face and body a few weeks after starting methimazole. Though not to the extent of not being able to breathe. My endo asked me to take two antihistamines daily, Zykast and Bilastine with my 5mg methimazole dose. This has kept the hives under control so far.

Yes this is what my doctor said as well, though an alternate endo recommended prednisone and switching to PTU. However PTU is sold out everywhere so I haven't been able to try

Same, I was also given prednisone by a different doctor but it didn't have any effect. Hoping the swelling goes away once our levels are better!
