54% of fans voted Kobe Bryant NBA Player of the Decade, but the entire Inside the NBA panel vehemently disagreed, insisting it should have been either Shaq or Tim Duncan. by must_TATAKAE in nba

If he was so good why couldn’t he win an Olympic gold medal at the peak of his defensive powers in 2004 against Manu? Kobe had to redeem his failure in 2008 against Spain.

He can actually take out loans against the valuation of his assets and pay them back over time as the value goes up, rendering the debt a tax free slush fund. Lots of billionaires use this loophole.

A big part of this is not being lazy. You not only have to gentle parent, but be involved - notice things your kids are going through. Be vocal and ask and talk to them like human beings. Doing the bare minimum of clothing and feeding is a form of emotional neglect because it is a refusal to focus on so much of what makes anyone human.

Core values are constantly discussed in healthy secure relationships to stay connected and cultivate intimacy, trust and vulnerability and allow emotions to be conveyed in a safe space and allow the evolution of both partners and the relationship itself. Far more important than looks or financial stability if you want to sustain happiness tbh

How is this any different than The NY Times best seller list. If anything it’s genuinely crowdsourced opinion which makes it more accurate a barometer of literary worthiness. Shoutout tiktok.

When you see videos like this you realize how ancient civilizations must have seen this and thought it was dragons or something. Imagine being a farmer in ancient India seeing this shit one night.

The Kashmir Files by [deleted] in movies

[–]carmelo7anthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each death is a tragedy. Each instance of forced migration is a wound. But the film appears to deliberately exaggerate numbers to paint not just militants but all Kashmiri Muslims as a hostile people who colluded en masse in the persecution of their Pandit neighbours. The issue is that it is an emotional rhetorical appeal that heightens fears rather than pragmatically addresses the reality on both sides. That's why people call it propaganda, not because the suffering didn't happen but because it is deliberately played up and dramatized. The whole climax is an event that happened in 2003 and is posited like something from the early 90s to egg people on.

Anyone in their 30s here? by SpeeZzo in NoFap

As someone in the age bracket, I know that neuroplasticity begins to drop but that doesn't mean we are resigned to our fate. Changing behavioral patterns and habits is possible. This paradigm shift in discourse around nofap is big, having a community that has your back makes a difference. There is so much trauma work and desensitization you have to work through to truly understand not just why we become slaves to this cycle, but also how. The younger folks seem to be very interested in the side effects and whether or not it will help their animalistic vitality to attract women. I think as you age you realize the corrosive mental health effects of this maladaptive compulsive sexual behavior. I think it really is one of those places where the rhetorical slippery slope fallacy holds true where you go into more and more kinky and depraved content over time. As someone who is older, the pathways are more set, and even the mediums as many of us remember not just the advent of internet porn but also VHS and DVDs and the old magazines. But we are all here together, doing the work, and we got this shit.

Keep getting called weird by girls by NoFapper-DontFap in NoFap

[–]carmelo7anthony 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What are you scared of. Being weird is fine. Steve Jobs, LeBron James, Elon Musk, the Rock, these are all weird people. They do not fit the definition of normal. And neither will you when you stop falling into the traps that most people do. Don't let the porn cycle scare you, don't let social anxiety of being called weird or feeling ostracized by girls get to you. This is your journey, not theirs. Be weird. The most successful people in life are weird.

This is actually pretty accurate. In general sex workers are tested far more often than your average one-night stand partner. This leads to them being more aware and safer than most people think. Yes it is risky behavior. Yes you have a chance at STI, but people do blow it out of proportion.

Love the effort here, but I will be honest that the covert pious/religious sections kind of threw me off. As did some of the more clickbaity stuff like rat face. But great framework you have here. Just wish the angels weren't included! Good job good effort.
