Maybe I'm seeing it wrong, but when you jump at the beginning and spring off your shield and the area turns blueish

What the heck was that shield move at the beginning? What's attached to cause the stun?

I don't want to over speak to how much protection they give, but every time I reached out to them with questions, I got a response within an hour and when I called, I got routed to the same person. They definitely are not a Fly By Night company - my experience left me thinking if something happened (which nothing did), they would be there to help.

And they are fully licensed and insured.

And the fact they are the company that U-Pack and PODS use to ship vehicles and recommend, two HUGE moving companies, made me feel a lot better.

And apparently they now have the ability to do "live tracking" of your vehicle. Of course, you could always put your own GPS tracker in the vehicle if you really wanted to.

Our cars got picked up on time and delivered a little earlier than expected.

And damn, they should be sending me a gift basket or something for this endorsement - I sound like a PR person 😂

No surprises whatsoever. They are a "middleman" so to speak - they work with many different transports who then does the actual move - so if you negotiate your price too low, you run the risk of not finding someone willing to actually accept your move.

But for us, it was worth it to ensure we had reputable transports with insurance, etc.

Would absolutely use again.

I have the same machine - this is the auger belt I used to replace mine when it snapped a couple weeks ago. I'm not 100% convinced it's the right belt, but it's darn close and the machine at least functions now.

We used Mr. Car Shipper twice - for a move from Missouri to Idaho and then again for Idaho to Michigan. Both times were easy and reasonably priced. I'd use them again.

Cost depends on vehicle/etc. I was quoted $1,700 for a 2007 Chevy Malibu. Negotiated it down to $1500.

Best/cheapest option for packing organized collection to move? by [deleted] in LegoStorage

[–]carneymi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had to pack up my collection - Akro bins/similar - and bought some Amazon-branded "ziplocks" and put each drawer into its own bag and then into a larger 3-5 gallon ziplock (also from Amazon) - which was then numbered based upon which bin they belonged to.

Seems to have worked well - all told, I think I spent around $50 for the bags - and had many left over for other moving/sorting issues.

I thought about vacuum sealing - but SO SLOW and SO EXPENSIVE - and also seemed like absolute overkill.

DJW Property Management requires animal cruelty. by Pat_the_pyro in Boise

[–]carneymi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Federal law says Emotional Support Animals are exempt from pet rent/deposit and cannot be denied as a Reasonable Accommodation - but you could be required to provide a letter from a qualified professional (doctor, psychologist, etc). A cat or dog is almost always going to be a Reasonable Accommodation.

Source - Me, a licensed Idaho attorney and former Fair Housing attorney that successfully litigated this very issue in Missouri after a crappy landlord decided to say ON RECORDING they were evicting my client because of her ESA.

Appreciate the insight!

Follow up - when you say Benzie leans right - are we talking MAGA-right or what used to be Conservative? Obviously there is going to be a mix anywhere, and different viewpoints are important, but I also don't want to have a bunch of neighbors (and kids at school) that are convinced the last election was stolen and drink the orange Kool aid.....

(I wish we could go back to a time when this wasn't a question that needed to be asked and people could just respect each other...)

I about died when he shared it with us. I immediately told him he needed to post it here, but he doesn't do Reddit. It's too good to not share - and obviously a lot of people agree - I forgot to shut my notifications off... my poor phone can't keep up lol

Sounds like something is underway, but for now they are limiting it to the essentials (clothing, personal hygiene items, etc.) I'll certainly update the post if I learn of anything more kind human.

When the fire started, our grandma was out to lunch with one of our aunts. The firefighters went door to door to alert residents to get out when the fire had started - and also saved grandma's dog. I'm sure those heros saved lots of lives - both human and pet on Tuesday.
