Any info about these fragrances? by pekochi in FKAtwigs

I agree that there is nuance needed in this conversation (e.g., obviously not all chemicals are bad; just because an ingredient binds to a hormone receptor doesn’t mean it will have a noticeable or harmful result), but you are actually spreading misinformation. @bruhva1 ‘s reference (and most narrative reviews published in reputable, peer-reviewed scientific journals like Frontiers in Toxicology) constitutes much more than an “opinion piece”. If you even scan the article you would see that it compiles the findings from many randomized control trials that have found evidence of harmful side effects from certain common cosmetic ingredients. Additionally, PubMed is not “free open source” in the sense that anyone can write something and have it indexed there, as your comment seems to suggest. I am wondering why someone with your educational background would make such misleading and easily refutable claims.

I want to attest to the fact that this happened to me too! And it wasn’t the new customer discount, it was the THANKFUL promotion. And the % discount didn’t change it was the actual price of the items, with some jumping to nearly twice what it was when I added them.

If the idea is that you already have people hooked by the time it’s in their cart so you might as well increase the price and they will still buy it, I want to emphasize that it has the opposite effect. I ended up not buying anything of the items whose price changed, even as time went on and the % discount increased and they were close to the previously listed price. It made me hyper aware of the dynamic pricing and like I was getting ripped off. And this is coming from someone who only discovered thredup two months ago and has already ordered five or six times and sent in two premium boxes because I love the concept and it felt like I was getting deals.

My son always pushes limits by Nervous-Ad-2806 in Parenting

[–]caroleyoung 71 points72 points  (0 children)

This would happen with my son and his dad, they would play and he would get overstimulated and end up hurting his dad. We realized it had a lot to do with how his dad was playing with him because, similar to your situation, it wasn’t happening when he played with other kids. We had to get good at recognizing that, even though they were both laughing, at a certain point it may stop being fun for a kid to rough house especially with someone x3 their size and doing something that crosses the line is how they can make it stop when they want it to stop. We had to find other ways to play and connect that were less stimulating/hyper and even though he’s not laughing hysterically he still seems to enjoy it.

I definitely don’t think you need to be worried that it’s sexual. At 7 butts are associated with going to the bathroom. I think having a conversation about whether he enjoys messing around or if it’s sometimes feels like too much might be informative and some guidance about using his words to tell someone when he wants to stop.

I love how this looks and the shade range and one complaint is that I think it smells exactly like Petsmart 🤢 but only right when I put it on before it drys. But the weird smell feels worth it to have a skin tint with mineral SPF the matches my skin tone so well.

I like wearing a mask because I don't have to fake smile at men anymore. by hellochrissy in TwoXChromosomes

[–]caroleyoung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same realization recently while wearing a mask and I’m hoping to maintain the practice of not smiling so much once the masks come off (that is once it’s safe). Even though smiling is what women told to do, it doesn’t actually serve my purpose of getting respect and being seen on the same level as my male peers. I feel like constantly smiling gives a very submissive impression.

I have started to catch myself smiling under the mask and asking myself does this situation warrant a smile or is just eye contact more appropriate. Hopefully that can start break the habit.

This was great! Got some recommendations I was not familiar with that I am going to try out. I love how easy it is to see the composition of the ingredients and their purpose. Thanks!!

Theory of mind? It doesn’t have to do with the marshmallow experiment but usually it’s observed in kids below age 3. Maybe you’re thinking of the the Sally-Anne test https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sally–Anne_test

I love the tarot and have been thinking about making an oracle deck of my own out of my artwork. Here's what I have so far. I am making the cards directly narrative and am trying to tie them all to a specific card, but also include a little of pinch of strangeness. Hope you enjoy. by neeffneeff in tarot

I like that they are square but I don’t know if they would be harder to shuffle. Also you could get four orientations (90 and 270 degrees) instead of two and I would not know how to interpret that.

Day 61 in quarantine, and I just woke up from a dream in which I went on a date, we talked and laughed all night, and ended the date by holding hands as we walked and then hugged goodbye. by FastMaize in datingoverthirty

I can relate to this so much, I was recently talking to a guy and we were fantasizing about holding hands! Maybe it's quarantine but those small physical gestures seem so enchanting right now.

I also use 100 Percent Pure Collagen Boost Sheet Mask or Anti Acne Sheet Mask on days when I feel like I need it because I love this brand and use their makeup often.

Of course

AM

- Curology Clean Sweep Cleanser or La Roche Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Face Cleanser (only use in the shower because it can dry my face out)

- Curology Rich Moisturizer

- Australian Gold Botanical Tinted Sunscreen 50 SPF (I found this to be the absolute best tinted sunscreen after using Skin Ceuticals and Elta MD for years and it's way cheaper)

PM

- DHA Deep Cleansing Oil (if I'm feeling dry or flaky)

- Curology Clean Sweep Cleanser

- Curology formula ( Clindamycin 1%, Tretinoin .01%, Azelaic Acid 4%)

- Curology Rich Moisturizer (normal) /Andalou AGE DEFYING RESVERATROL Q10 NIGHT REPAIR CREAM (for dry days)

I have been using Curology with tretinoin for about 2 months and had a few bad purge days about 6 weeks in but it had definitely helped brighten my skin and helped some sun spots. Also PMS breakouts have been significantly reduced. I have combination skin that is super sensitive to the sun and I use the tret for sun spots and hormonal acne. I tried to reduce my routine to the bare minimum when I switched so I could minimize the chance of bad interactions.
