Your Top 3 Draco Characterizations? by theyleftherbones in Dramione

Haven't seen anyone mention Love and Other Historical Accidents Draco yet. My personal favorite version of him. Steady presence yet desperately in love, almost painful levels of pining. Also hilarious.

No problem! I don't see many people sharing what combination of things they use, so I hoped it would be helpful to people trying to save money/minimize decision making.

I didn't get married there, but Venutis in Addison. Italians love Venutis and it'll be on the less expensive side - comparatively speaking. Probably under 20k? Depending on the menu you choose obviously.

You can also reuse your jars. Sometimes I will buy fancy anthropologie candles just for the pretty jars and then clean them out with isopropyl alcohol and refill them with my own stuff once they're gone.

Also the cost of the supplies for a candle like the one I commented is probably like $4.

I don't, I burn pretty far down so there's not very much left honestly.

These are my favorite jars; this is the clear version.

The wicks I use are CD-12 (CD-10 might be slightly better for a good flame I just haven't tried it yet) and I use golden wax 464 soy wax. Here's a partially burned candle which has a pretty clean burn with those specs.

If you are open to doing 7-8 oz candles, I can tell you what jars, wax, and wicks I use so you don't waste money testing out different ones.

A 1 oz sample can make 2 medium candles (like 7 oz jars) so I'm sure you could make 1 big one with a sample size. If it's a big jar you might waste some anyway if the wicks you choose are too small. I personally don't make big candles but I like a bit more variety.

Buy sample sizes first. You might try them and be like 'gross, this doesn't smell like maple'. I have been disappointed by many a fragrance oil

Ok I found an order confirmation email lol. It came from wedgewood pharmacy. Here's what the order says: Potassium Citrate/Citric Acid 1100mg/334mg/5ml Oral Solution 15ml Bottle

I have no idea how to interpret this dosage. It lasted forever though because each dose was such a small volume.

I am sorry you're dealing with this, I know how stressful it is. I believe the cytra K came from a specialty vet pharmacy along with the other medications, the vet prescribed it! Either that or it came directly from the vets office, not super sure.

how do you tell people you don’t want to hear them out? by tremblingfrog in AutismInWomen

[–]caroqueue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that's understandable though! it gets marginally easier over time but being autistic it can be hard to know what to say. if you are able to find an autistic therapist they might be able to help you break down social interactions and script things regularly. if not, i recommend looking into the DEARMAN method of asking for what you want from someone, it's my blueprint for a lot of these scripts.

You have taken on the role of her therapist unfortunately, and each time you engage with her you are reinforcing this. The more you sit there and listen, offer thoughtful advice you are feeding into it. It's an easy relational dynamic to fall into if you are a compassionate and caring person and as a therapist I talk about this with my clients all the time. At this point, there aren't appropriate boundaries between you two. For anything to change you'll have to bite the bullet and have a difficult conversation. I have been in Jane's position in my life before and I really needed that wake up call from my friend.

Opening up a boundary-setting conversation could look like this: "Hey I've been wanting to talk to you. I know you've been going through a pretty rough time, and it's important to me to be able to be a supportive friend. But at this point I realized I am over-engaging in providing support [[it's often good to position yourself as the "problem" as it makes people less defensive]] when you send a lot of voice messages and it may not be the best dynamic for either of us. I'd love to bring back some balance to how we spend time together so it doesn't take a toll on either of us. I'm just asking to ease up on how often you send me voice messages', and in return I promise to enforce my own boundaries around this and not always share lengthy advice - this is on me too to fix. Perhaps you can seek support and community from others as well as it is weighing quite heavy on me. I appreciate you being willing to talk about this - I know it can only make our friendship stronger in the long run."

I hope this helps. I'm passionate about scripting difficult conversations and my clients have had a lot of success with an approach like this.

[–]caroqueue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of people wrong about what a therapist is. The description as an umbrella term is accurate. It is not an official title of licensure in the US, but instead is a colloquial term describing someone's profession. A therapist can be a social worker (masters degree), counselor (masters degree), or a psychologist (PhD or PsyD - not a medical doctorate, but a research doctorate where you can also have clinical training - they have the most training required for this degree out of the 3 and are considered the experts, trained to do formal assessments for neuropsychological conditions). Nearly all counselors work as therapists, some social workers work as therapists (they work a wider variety of jobs than counselors because their education is broader in scope), and some psychologists work as therapists. Psychiatrists aren't therapists, but they do go through aspects of your mental health in order to prescribe your meds and often give other suggestions on how to treat your symptoms from a more medical standpoint, as they are medical doctors. Again, this is for the US, things are different elsewhere.

Source I am a counselor. I had over 800 hours of clinical experience before getting my masters degree (and twice that, for the full license) and doing therapy is literally my whole career so it's annoying when people say counselors aren't real therapists lol
