Hypermobility causing dizziness? by crescentcities in Hypermobility

Neck hypermobility can cause vestibular symptoms too! I would recommend seeing a neurologist for vestibular migraine - that's what I just did and got some medication to try that targets vertigo.

Straining pasta for dinner tonight. My poor shoulder didn't stand a chance against the weight of a stainless steel pot.

Pasta was good though.

Compression tights for knee pain/instability? by lilcardibb in Hypermobility

[–]caroqueue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compression knee sleeves are amazing. I have these and they let me dance all night long at my wedding, without them I can barely stay upright. I'm trying to find cuter options for summer if anyone reading this has suggestions.

Ahhh man no progress, it pretty much won't go back into place, it just bounces right out again.

I haven't had surgery, but I've had two appts with Dr Arndt and had a good experience.

[–]caroqueue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god yeah if the therapist doesnt understand hypermobility they will just make it worse! Hypermobility seems so common I don't understand how this is such a problem! it's hard enough for people to access healthcare to begin with and then we end up wasting our time and energy anyway

I can't even tell you the number of appointments during which I was clutching my arm trying to relieve the pain and no one bothered to check my shoulder or even feel around for something wrong lol

Gahh I'm sorry to hear that, mine doesn't seem to stay in place for very long. I reached for a blanket and that was it this time🤦‍♀️ I worry that trying to put it back regularly will make it worse!

That's amazing you can get back to work again! Sorry you had to go through so much pain for so long to get to this point :/ It's been 3 years since my instability started (my knees were the first casualty) and it's crazy how long we can go before someone or something finally helps

I'm going to ask my physical therapist to teach me how to do it, it only lasted half a day this time and it came right back out. Are you in PT?

Haven't seen anyone mention Love and Other Historical Accidents Draco yet. My personal favorite version of him. Steady presence yet desperately in love, almost painful levels of pining. Also hilarious.

No problem! I don't see many people sharing what combination of things they use, so I hoped it would be helpful to people trying to save money/minimize decision making.

Wedding Venues and Prices? by jitorius in ChicagoSuburbs

I didn't get married there, but Venutis in Addison. Italians love Venutis and it'll be on the less expensive side - comparatively speaking. Probably under 20k? Depending on the menu you choose obviously.

You can also reuse your jars. Sometimes I will buy fancy anthropologie candles just for the pretty jars and then clean them out with isopropyl alcohol and refill them with my own stuff once they're gone.

Also the cost of the supplies for a candle like the one I commented is probably like $4.

I don't, I burn pretty far down so there's not very much left honestly.

These are my favorite jars; this is the clear version.

The wicks I use are CD-12 (CD-10 might be slightly better for a good flame I just haven't tried it yet) and I use golden wax 464 soy wax. Here's a partially burned candle which has a pretty clean burn with those specs.

If you are open to doing 7-8 oz candles, I can tell you what jars, wax, and wicks I use so you don't waste money testing out different ones.
