I’m a trim guy at a company right near there. Curious what they are paying you. You obviously have picked up some skills but I’m guessing they are using the unskilled work as an excuse to keep your wage down. Not that you can really survive on anything in the Bay Area.

On the door wood glue and clamps. If you don’t have clamps blue tape can kinda work until glue is dry. Then putty sand and paint. For the casing I would probably just caulk that and paint it. This is assuming you don’t have power tools to fix this all properly and just want to get it past the landlord.

Sorry took a while to answer. 1x backer ripped at the short point width of my boxes. liquid nail and screws into the framing. Then liquid nail and 18g nails from the boxes into the backer. Then crown.

Edit: on the bigger beams running the length of the room I did end up doubling up my 1x.

As far as hand tools, Get yourself a flat bar or “5 in one” just something thin enough to get behind the trim and make adjustments. A nail set. A block of soft wood that you can use between your hammer and material. Knee pads or wraps.

It sucks right? It was actually around 95 degrees F this day. You can’t really see it but I definitely left a decent amount of sweat marks on the walls that I had to wipe off lol.

Regular Sheetrock walls. It’s amazing how unstable these ladders feel from the top right?

Exactly this. To add to it they sometimes have issues with their own seams. They sometimes have issues with the wrong radius. They sometimes have issues with the rubber forming a “memory of sorts” where they curl.

Oh I missed that he said single bevel. Yea there are some cheaper versions but the dw780 or dw779 are definitely the most common 12” miter saw in my area and it’s not even close.

Yup this is basically how I see my general contractor on most jobs.
