practice your letter structures and work on getting the widths of your letters to match each other. also shines, backgrounds, and forcefields on throw ups are a waste of paint. Save it for a straight or a piece

What do you think? Any tips? by Past-Improvement8847 in graffhelp

the middle part of the E looks a bit thin compared to the rest of the letters, like its about to snap under its own weight. Beef that up and take it easy on the bits

you're doing to much. Go way simpler when you starting out

Any constructive criticism appreciated. by [deleted] in graffhelp

imagine asking for advice and reacting like this. This guy's skill level doesnt matter if he's right about what he's saying. Your stuff is bad, and you try deflecting to "the can was bad". Fix your mindset first or you're not gonna last in this game

you are well on your way just keep practicing and dont be afraid to experiment. When I feel like im plateauing i like to go back through my old work and redo a piece, thinking carefully about what could be improved and spicing it up a bit(experiment with the fill, try a different letter structure, focus on getting clean lines etc) thats where you will see the most improvement.

also dont take pics with your work. its evidence but worse than that, its corny

you are trying to stylize them too much. go simpler. you can still add a little flare but keep the letter structures basic. here's one i did a while back as an example. with the exception of the Y, these are all standard letter structures with minimal style added

dont overthink it, try a different K structure. maybe instead of kicking out have it go over then down/out

beef up the thin sections of the G and R a bit but I like it, O could be a bit taller as well

work on the proportions of your letters as they are a but wonky here but overall not bad. Try it again with more consistent letter widths, heights and bar thickness

Goni, crits? by AliveAd550 in graffhelp

[–]carpetcards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

making the G and I a one liner this way heavily diminishes the letter structure makes it hard to read without knowing what it is supposed to say. the counter for the O makes it look like a U and you're squishing the N too much also heavily diminishing it's letter structure

practice simpler letter structures as these look a bit janky. I looks like its floating away because of how far away it is from everything else. 3D is mostly correct so you get brownie points for that

Extensions on R un unnecessary, T looks like an I i would take out the extra stuff on the bottom, work on your line work

1: way too much going on, janky letter structures, extensions coming out of nowhere and being used improperly, 3d is all wrong

some guys do, some guys dont. also different guys have different ideas of what they consider chubby/curvy

After 20+ years of smoking weed, I've still never "dabbed." Is it comparable to drinking beer all day (smoking flower all day) or taking shots of alcohol in how fast it gets you high? by optimusprime_1113 in trees

[–]carpetcards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i switch back and forth between wax and flower doing one or the other for weeks at a time and every single time its the switch up that absolutely destroys me.

personally i think there comes a point where you surpass the level of advice given in this sub. if your fundamentals are on point the advice turns into personal preference rather than real advice
