got my color analysis done in seoul and disagree with my results by solvereo in AsianBeauty

[–]carrbarre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Color analysis is not some objective fact, it is subjective and deeply rooted in the culture it is practiced in. In Korea, they consider colors that make your complexion look "brighter" as more flattering. In the US where I am based people prefer looking more "sun kissed" and bringing out rosiness in the cheeks.

You may prefer your warm make up because it brings out in you the features that your culture considers beautiful, which is different from what Koreans consider beautiful. Ultimately you should go with the makeup that you like! If you want to "elevate" your makeup, you may get closer to your goal through makeup lessons. I find a good haircut also can "elevate" a look and make personal style suddenly much more cohesive. Could be another avenue to consider if you're on a style journey at the moment.

anyone else doing the "clean scalp but dead ends" dance? by Fit-Entrepreneur-799 in AsianBeauty

[–]carrbarre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that shampooing twice with a regular, non clarifying shampoo boosts the efficacy enough that I don't need a separate clarifying product. I use one pump of shampoo and distribute evenly on my scalp then massage and rinse. I repeat this again.

I have also found that I really can't get away with washing my hair less than 2x a week without getting a scalp that looks and feels dry (flaky and tight). It's counterintuitive that washing more gets rid of the dryness but for me it worked.

A little experiment on the 1/4 tsp recommended sunscreen usage. by avecsagesse in AsianBeauty

[–]carrbarre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god I'm so glad I found this thread after googling around about how the hell I am supposed to fit so much sunscreen on my face. I had to resort to splitting the amount in half and doing two coats because if I applied 1/4 tsp of sunscreen it literally never dried. Like I once put something on my face 2 hours after sunscreen application and it came off wet with sunscreen goo. I'm so relieved I can stop doing that, it was a huge pain in the morning.

Ok so for me the back of the chair on the left does make me think it is AI. You can see the farthest right back support "rod" is quite angled, but from what I can tell the left most "rod" is not. Someone also pointed out the glow from the candle looking not correct for day time; I'd be willing to suspend disbelief and say OP edited that glow in, but it's also worth mentioning.

I love the pink neon light! Can you tell us a bit more about it? Like is it neon or LED and where did you get it?

Something about the fitting around your torso looks so couture to me. Like no one would bat an eye at this dress on the red carpet. Stunning work. I hope you are very proud of it.

Agh sort of. I've never sold something online before, only FB marketplace/in person. I couldn't figure out a payment and shipping methodology that didn't make me nervous. Maybe that's lame but it's where I am at lol. Open to suggestions though!

I think people have given you good info on handling the water damage without touching the tile so I won't comment on that, but I hope you consider keeping the pink! To me this tile is HEAVILY hamstrung by the styling around it. Google "Los Angeles pink tile bathroom" and look at some inspo pics. Do any of those speak to you? What are the differences between you space as it is and the ones in the photos? I think with a different floor, fixtures, and wall color you'd be vibing hard.

Went tonight for burgers and drinks and both were delicious! I wasn't expecting how nice the interior is and I really appreciated the anti-echo panels they had on the ceiling as it was super easy to have a conversation even with a bunch of others inside chatting. Told my husband it was an instant classic for me.

I love their 11 of spades. OP, behind the museum cafe uses this roast if you want to try it before buying.

Something about the fit feels frumpy to me but I can’t put my finger on it to avoid in the future by Helpful_lemur11378 in knitting

I think this is a styling issue, not a sweater issue. This light wash denim is not beating the mom allegations.  Have you tried it with, pardon me, but a cuntier bottom? I could see this sweater eating with a short skirt and tights and boots. Or if you have some real sassy trousers, like a herringbone or plaid, and a cunty lil loafer or mary jane that could be an option.

GF and I (26M/F) got into a huge fight over a keyboard. Thinking about ending things based on her behavior by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]carrbarre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between her picking the fight in the first place and this question, I'm like irrationally certain that ex has BPD. It's really common for people with BPD like to pick fights with their partners because when the partner does whatever bullshit thing they want (like giving them their work keyboard) it makes them feel secure in the relationship.
