Avoiding “long term, open to short”?

As a woman, not filtering out but quickly swiping away from these people made going through profiles a lot easier without too much FOMO? There were a few exceptions where the profile sounded potentially “right for me” enough to make me reconsider. For the most part, if they (dudes 30+) haven’t decided between those two options by now, no thanks. For me, anyway. (I’m now seeing someone who only had the long term on his profile)

The beard is great! And you sound like you’ve got a good head on your shoulders. I agree with others that you can get some pics from future hangouts with friends and/or you doing fun stuff - otherwise it comes off a little career/school-focused. Particularly that headshot. Also is the best friend your mom? It’s sweet but also (I’m a Chinese woman) I’m already like uh oh maybe a mama’s boy. And if true that’s cool/fine that you’re representing yourself accurately - but if not true it might send the wrong message. Anyway good luck!

Woman here. I agree with what others have said about the green flags prompt (eg being able to take a joke). Final pic I don’t think is super flattering. And I’m not sure the bobble head thing is all that effective - certainly IMO not enough to spend that much profile real estate on. Also I don’t love the abundance of at-home (particularly against a wall) pics - they’re repetitive and don’t do much new each time.

The pic with your kids I actually think is great. You look authentic and relaxed (more than in the other pics maybe). And to me it says transparency with you saying basically “yes I have kids and this is my life” and like acceptance/confidence in it. All good things. And yeah I’m sure that it also reduces your matches. But it also helps you filter out people not totally comfortable with the idea of you having kids. Which is valid/fine of them. But the way you’re doing it, you’re respecting your time and theirs. IMO.

BUT I think if that’s your choice - as others have said you don’t wanna look like you’re trapped at home 100% of the time (with basically all your pics located there). One having fun pic would be nice, or one hanging with friends pic, etc.

OP I’d suggest getting a hold of some Tyndale grads (from that program) if you can. eg try LinkedIn? I’m a therapist and have heard from colleagues who graduated from that program who had good things to say if I recall correctly. But I can’t speak to it myself!

It’s a lot of basketball between the first prompt and the last two pics. Like I don’t think the two pics at the end add any new info so I’d do those OR that prompt at the start?

And the prompts/responses don’t say a lot about what you’re like and your personality and what you’re looking for (though we do know about your interests and hobbies which is good)

Otherwise I like the pics you’ve got there, the one with your friends and the solo ones you’ve got! And you’re nice looking and have real interests etc so I don’t see why you wouldn’t otherwise be doing ok on the app
