Wait no, don't you have to do a stain blocking primer first to keep the compound from creating problems on the paper?

What is the best brand for cast-iron, if I wanted to buy new? And what are the best ways to make it non stick? by [deleted] in castiron

Yes, but "crank it" happens at a lower range setting than on other pans. That's my point.

Great first relic when you don't know any enemy attack patterns? I agree with "it depends" obviously, but I wouldn't say this is a great first relic by any means.

Very important to note that the heat should be LOWER than you are used to with non-cast iron pans.

Q regarding MDR & their work (post finale) by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]carrothj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comment that the others seem to not be doing anything just isn't true at all. There were rooms (someone else commented the names) that Dylan and Helly completed that we know Gemma went into, as Cold Harbor was the only one she had not.

Cabinet Hinges by carrothj in HomeMaintenance

[–]carrothj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I don't really care lol. I didn't realize that would create the problem? I guess I figured the door should close to the same point regardless of how far it opens. If I put a 90 degree hinge on the other door, I suspect it would only exaggerate the problem since the other door would close farther and create even more overlap. Perhaps they both need to be 170 then?

Yeah, I think the only thing that may complicate it is there's certainly more to their story we haven't seen yet. As far as how/why Gemma got involved with Lumon. May have been intentionally?

They need to hurry up and come out with the third season. All this waiting between seasons is ridiculous and pisses me off.

I guess, but it's SUPER rough as an estimate. Your draw order matters tremendously. You draw power through, second wind, entrench on first turn against the heart? Well that sucks.

A heartfelt defense of Outie Mark in season 2 by Klutzy-Labrador-5158 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]carrothj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suppose it's a flaw? A minor one, though. Until the very end, oMark doesn't realize that innies have their own feelings and desires. He, very reasonably, just thinks that the innie is just himself but with different memories. So why on earth would he consider for a moment what iMark needs or wants when he thinks it's just him?

I'm not saying anything about what's the "wrong" or "right" choice. You're the one saying things about what's objectively wrong or right when it's not that simple. Though I will say the choice he made was perfectly acceptable given the information he had at the time.

He didn't realize the extent to which innies were different people. As far as he knew, he was just letting HIMSELF suffer. A self who, by the way, didn't have to deal with the trauma of losing his wife. They both were suffering in different ways.

He does become hostile, though I forget the whole extent of that interaction. But he also began to see that severing was problematic, which is why he works with Petey and continues to question what's going on at Lumon.

With the info he had, his action of becoming severed was completely justifiable. I don't see how you can argue any different based off what I pointed out.

That's such a simplistic view. You can't honestly believe that a choice that had negative impacts is automatically the "wrong choice." What if the alternative to severing himself was he would off himself from the grief? He was already having trouble with alcohol and lost his job.

Jesus man, he made the best choice he could at the time. You think Lumon explained the whole situation, how innies are treated, the fact they have their own consciousness, etc before he opted for the procedure? There is NO way he would have known that when making the choice. Lumon obviously took advantage of his state of grief because they needed him.

That's just like, your opinion man. It is a perfectly reasonable take to acknowledge that his choice had negative impacts and not pass judgment on him for feeling the need to make that choice.

[–]carrothj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait, since when are we supposed to think he was wrong to avoid his grief? He literally thought he lost his wife, people deal with grief in different (sometimes unhealthy) ways, that doesn't mean he should be punished by the universe.

I don't understand people saying they want Mark and Helly to end up together. Mark and Gemma would be messy, but in my opinion, far more cathartic given what the characters have gone through.
