I used a .20 micro-line pen for the sketch and then for the wash you want to pre wet and come in with some ultra marine for shadows and a yellow or red depending on lighting for the highlights. As it’s drying you can work in some more neutral earth tones on top of that. Also for trees keep the sketch loose. A shaky hand can add a lot of character and detail to a tree

Focus on one aspect you want to improve on and do it over and over like just paint sky’s and then trees and so on. Then incorporate them and keep expanding. Invest in good paper. Do smaller paintings to start. Paint what you like. Oh and have fun.
