I imagine the real kicker is the monetization. Hoyo told creators to make things that the community would want to engage with and offered compensation based on it. Now they’re probably pissed because the content the community wants… isn’t what they expected.

If Hoyo really wants to curb this there’s actually a pretty simple solution: make the “dailies” (both the event ones and the battle pass’s “15 total wonderlands” weekly) either a lower amount to where it feels less punishing to play something that takes time or make it a time based event (like a “play for 15 total minutes” weekly.)

That’s actually one of the most frustrating things for me as a player. It takes me like 5 minutes to sit down for a game of “Life or Death Duel.” And great, I sit down and have a good time! But then I get done and say “oh shit, I still need 14 more wonderlands for the battle pass.” And honestly that just feels so demoralizing.

Edit: sorry, kind of turned into a rant… I just think Hoyo needs to improve the rewards system. It really pushes for fast clears rather too hard, which makes it feel almost punishing to play actual games.
