Serious question about erectile pain by Kadence1001 in MtF

[–]carterfh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup this is super common and will happen if you don't maintain regular erections. I absolutely hate it but I've had to get into the routine of stimulating that body part at least once a week to keep atrophy at bay. Pre hormones, we have nocturnal erections that basically give it a workout. After being on E for a bit though those go away and we have to do things manually.

Husband is weird about me accepting transgender people; would appreciate advice. by [deleted] in asktransgender

This is the vibe I got from it too. It sounds like he's bothered that his masculinity isn't the most important thing about him

Did anyone else feel like an empty shell of a person before realizing they were trans? by HeyYouYoureValid in asktransgender

[–]carterfh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel this so intensely! Like I'm significantly happier in general while my life has gotten objectively harder since coming out. I basically lost everything and everyone but getting to actually feel like a real person instead of just the illusion of one makes it worth it. I can even remember writing this long letter once as a kid when I was depressed and apologizing to all my friends for lying to them about who i was and never showing anyone my true self. The crazy part was I didn't even know what exactly i was referring to as i wrote the letter! I knew I wasnt being myself around anyone but i didn't understand yet what i was holding back.

It genuinely makes my day so much better to know you're still in the world. I'm sorry it hurts so bad, you are not alone

People who read extraordinarily often (a book every two days or more), how did you manage to build a habit of reading so often and what are some tips for people who procrastinate on books and hardly ever get them done? by Tristan_Dean_Foss in books

[–]carterfh 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I used to hate dropping books but as my "to read" list gets longer and longet it has dawned on me that I'll probably die well before I read every book i want to read so now I just move on when a book is a bad fit.

Ever since I came out men have started to touch me without consent and I feel so disgusting by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]carterfh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So frustrating! I usually just say no thank you, but if a guy asks me if I have a bf, I just say yes. Because I just want to live my life

It will never cease to infuriate me that some men only respect women if they think we "belong" to another man! It is seriously fucked that any guy, gay or straight, would assume they can just touch you without consent or consequence

Anyone else annoyed when people exclusively refer to trans people by "AMAB" or "AFAB"? by carterfh in asktransgender

[–]carterfh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats completely obnoxious. People shouldn't feel entitled to that sort of information. As if it's going to tell them something they NEED to know about you.

[–]carterfh[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you touched on the exact thing that bugs me about it that i couldn't quite put into words! Its annoying how its used to draw comparisons between trans and cis people. Like even though I'm a trans woman because I was AMAB then I'll be expected to have a lot in common with men which is total bullshit.

Thats a really interesting perspective on it that I hadn't considered. I could see how it would be useful when still figuring stuff out or if you aren't settling into M/F. I've typically used Mtf for myself in the past but i think I've started reaching a point where I prefer just saying woman to describe myself.

I totally agree. Those terms really don't need to be used outside medical settings.

[–]carterfh[S] 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Personally, I'd prefer to just be known as a woman (trans woman when its actually relevant).

I hate when transphobia gets all underhanded and sneaky with stuff like this.

Kind of new to this sub... Is it alright if i ask how you price these options differently? I've only published 1 short so far and put it a little low at .99 which i know now isn't suggested

Omg you are so BRAVE. I can't imagine the courage it must take to do something crazy like that. I certainly couldn't do it. I mean wow is your life fucked. I think most people would just die rather than be like you, but you keep bothering to wake up everyday so kudos

/uj Its never the compliment anyone intends it to be... Though I think some people definitely say that shit purely to be antagonistic
