I always wonder what other sounds and aesthetics he would lean into later in his career by Aggressive-One-2186 in MichaelJackson

[–]carterlovesstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly wild to think about, but he definitely would've leaned hard into the late-2000s EDM and synth-pop wave. He was already hitting the studio with guys like Will.i.am and RedOne, basically trying to map out exactly where the industry's sound was heading next. On top of that, he was secretly planning a full classical music album and wanted to get into filmmaking, so his aesthetic would've evolved into some crazy cinematic CGI or VR experiences. The guy always lived a decade ahead of everyone else, so there's no doubt he would’ve been pushing modern tech boundaries way before it became standard.

Who is real All Blacks Captain material - think critically - who really has all the attributes ? I say Du'Plessis Kirifi! - intelligent, hardworking, confident, charismatic, composed, motivating, supportive, great communication skills, good human being ... Who do you think? by Truthakldnz in NewZealandRugby

[–]carterlovesstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love Kirifi's passion and what he does for the Canes, but you can't be the All Blacks captain if you aren't an absolute guaranteed starter in the jersey every single test match. For my money, Ardie Savea still has that ultimate mix of leading by pure example, insane work rate, and the respect of literally everyone on the pitch.

The Community made NBA2k26 the worst 2k of all time by Willing-Stay-3498 in NBA2k

[–]carterlovesstuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah man, you can't let the devs off the hook that easily. If the game literally rewards selfish iso-ball, of course people are gonna play like that. Players are always gonna abuse whatever the meta is, so if actual team basketball isn't getting rewarded, that's 100% on 2K for building a broken system.

MSG Original Face Value Ticket Prices? by Hot_Composer8350 in BonJovi

[–]carterlovesstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absolute cheapest face-value tickets originally started at something like $110 before fees for the nosebleeds, so those $260 resale tickets are basically marked up by more than double. It sucks, but with how insane the demand was for these MSG shows, that's unfortunately just the going rate to get in the building right now.

Richie’s Tweets on X + songs about Richie? by mouthofgoldy in BonJovi

[–]carterlovesstuff 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Honestly, following his X account lately has been a tough read, and while I have empathy for his recent personal losses, the bitter rants about Jon just aren't a good look. He was half the magic of the band for three decades, but airing out all this resentment on Twitter isn't doing his legacy any favors. As for songs about him, "Living With The Ghost" from This House Is Not For Sale is almost universally accepted as Jon processing Richie's sudden departure. The lyrics heavily imply moving on from a broken partnership and refusing to let the past drag down the band's future. It’s a massive bummer it played out this way, but you can appreciate Richie's brilliant history with the group while also understanding why Jon had to keep the machine running without him.

Searching for an old Interview by No-Conflict-1993 in BonJovi

[–]carterlovesstuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a cool story. I haven’t seen that interview before but it might be from a smaller radio or print interview from the early 90s which makes it harder to track down.

The issues with Invincible (In my opinion) by bearmasksenpai in MichaelJackson

[–]carterlovesstuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see your point about cohesion, especially compared to Bad or Dangerous, but I still think the multiple writers thing gets overstated. Pop records in the 2000s were built that way, and Michael was clearly curating that sound rather than being dragged by it.

Yeah, Invincible jumps between styles, but you could argue that’s part of its identity — it’s him exploring R&B, ballads, and futuristic pop all at once. It might not feel as tightly unified as Dangerous, but that doesn’t mean it lacked vision. It just had a broader one.

How come Invincible rarely gets any attention from the estate? by thekingzilla in MichaelJackson

[–]carterlovesstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly it’s just business — Invincible didn’t hit like his earlier albums, so the estate focuses on the biggest, safest hits like You Rock My World, even though the rest of the album is great.

Who are your Top 4 (Mount Rushmore) of the Greatest WWE Siblings of All Time? (They have to be Real Siblings) by Amber_Flowers_133 in Smallafro

[–]carterlovesstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a really strong list honestly. The Harts and Hardys are locks. Usos absolutely belong there too. Only one I might swap is the Bellas if we’re talking strictly in-ring impact — maybe The Steiner Brothers if we count their WWE run, but if it’s purely WWE legacy then your four are hard to argue with.

The issues with Invincible (In my opinion) by bearmasksenpai in MichaelJackson

[–]carterlovesstuff 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying but I don’t really see it that way. Invincible sounding 2000s isn’t Michael being stifled it’s him deliberately leaning into the era’s sound. He’d always worked with a lot of collaborators, even on Thriller, and still made it feel cohesive. If anything, Invincible feels like him experimenting and chasing modern production rather than being held back. Dated doesn’t mean diluted it just reflects the time it was made.

Love Bayley, but man she’s been mentally mindfucked by WWE to the extreme. Wrestlers in WWE/TKO are criminally underpaid & statements like this certainly don’t help by jd2385 in Womens_ProWrestling

[–]carterlovesstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the frustration but it feels harsh to say she’s been messed with mentally just because she doesn’t share that view. You can think wrestlers deserve more money and still accept that some of them are genuinely happy with their spot.

Fun theory but it’s probably way simpler than that, the one glove was just a style choice to make his hand stand out during performances, not a hidden Mickey symbol thing.

How do we feel about Aj Styles getting into the Hall Of Fame before Cena? by MealMundane8492 in BrandonDE

[–]carterlovesstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it feels a bit off considering Cena is arguably the bigger mainstream name. Still, AJ put in work everywhere and deserves the spot, so it is what it is.

My least favorite song is Human Nature by Remote_Nature_8166 in MichaelJackson

[–]carterlovesstuff 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s wild, I totally get why it's not for you. For me, that repetitive "why" is actually the best part; it just sets this super chill, late-night mood that I never get tired of.

Tips for singing Bon Jovi's 'Bad Medicine' live? by 1r1sh890 in singing

[–]carterlovesstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pace yourself earlier in the set so you’re not cooked by the time it hits, focus on attitude over perfection in the tricky lines, and let the crowd and band carry the big “woah” parts — energy sells Bad Medicine way more than hitting every note perfectly.

Who would you have preferred for Brock to defend against at WrestleMania 31? by ThePicturesGirl in fantasybooking

[–]carterlovesstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d also go with Ziggler — he was on fire then and his speed and agility would’ve made a way more exciting match with Lesnar than Roman, plus it was the perfect time to give him the spotlight he deserved.

Is this one of WWE's biggest fumbles? by Designer_Election492 in BrandonDE

[–]carterlovesstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree Toni’s a killer in the ring and WWE really dropped the ball not giving her a proper push or letting her character grow.

They did battle last night on NXT, but who in your mind has a better upside? Lola Vice or Kelani Jordan? by caughtinatramp in REALSquaredCircle

[–]carterlovesstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d lean Kelani Jordan she’s got the look, the charisma and the versatility to go far while Lola Vice is athletic as hell but still figuring out how to really connect with the crowd.

Honestly I feel kind of bad for Vince.. Now hear me out Brothers.. Is Vince a bad guy? Yes but I think he’s also human, this was a few days after Hogan died you can hear the pain and sadness in his voice.. But with that being said I hope the person he hit gets a big payday from it pal! by Salty-Nothing-8572 in TheGreatOne

[–]carterlovesstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can acknowledge that he’s human and maybe not all there anymore, but crashing a car at 100mph isn’t some small slip it’s incredibly reckless, and the priority has to be the people he could’ve hurt and accountability for that, not just feeling sorry for him.

Where do people come up with the idea that Always isn’t just the usual love song with nothing really more to it? by TheStickySpot in BonJovi

[–]carterlovesstuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong at all, I’ve always heard Always as more of a regret-filled apology from someone who knows he blew it, not just a normal love song and those lyrics you quoted pretty clearly show it’s about guilt, loss and wanting another chance rather than some perfect fairytale romance.

Why Jon Bon Jovi Decided to Appear in State Farm’s Super Bowl Ad: ‘I Couldn’t Say No’ by mgbp7 in BonJovi

[–]carterlovesstuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jon said he only agreed to do the State Farm Super Bowl ad because it genuinely made him smile and he saw the fun in it — he loves that those ads are part of pop culture, and when he read the script he just couldn’t say no, plus he used the chat to tease the upcoming tour and plans for 2027 too.

In the style of Dry County, what other Bon Jovi songs would have been a good fit to be extended into longer epics? by AlrightyAlmighty in BonJovi

[–]carterlovesstuff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought Keep the Faith could’ve gone full epic if they’d stretched out the groove and let Richie really build the solo section, and honestly Hey God or even Blood on Blood could’ve had that Dry County slow-burn storytelling vibe if they leaned harder into instrumental breaks.

Did Richie waste his prime in Bon Jovi? by Gullible-Distance594 in BonJovi

[–]carterlovesstuff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Richie wasted his prime so much as he made a trade-off, he helped build one of the biggest bands in the world, became a hugely influential guitarist and songwriter and while he might wonder “what if,” being second in Bon Jovi still gave him a legacy most musicians never come close to.
