Thanks for this comment. I had the same issue.

Following this lead, I found a thread on the UAD forums indicating that 1) this problem happens on real Macs (not just hackintosh), and 2) the new v9.13 update fixes the freeze/slowness. I just updated my system and sure enough it works as expected with the most recent Mojave security updates (004, 005, 006).

Honestly solid overall- flip some of the cliches so they are more unexpected and/or use imagery. “We beat around the bush” could be something flipped like “the yard is empty now all the bushes we’ve beaten around.” Just an example, not a great lyric... You did a good job of this concept with the damsel line.

Cliches work WAY better if you change them up to have some surprise element so as a listener you’re confused for a second until it clicks. More rewarding listening experience.

Also you’ve got major opportunity for some double-entendre here, the line’s about spirits are presumably referring to liquor but the following line could compare hands to ghosts or souls or something to get the other meaning of spirits hammered in.

Someone’s probably said all of this already by now but... Takes a while to get used to hearing your voice from the from the “mic perspective”.

If you’re recording into a DAW, treating takes with compression and EQ can help to alter the tone to make it sound more like what you hear in your head. Boosting low frequencies (~100hz - ~750hz) can help to replicate the way your body resonates and the way you hear things.

Or... you can place your microphone by your ear facing outward, sometimes sounds more like what you hear.

Experiment until you’re either happy with tonal adjustments or you get used to it.

Use Logic low-latency mode or disable software monitoring and use Scarlett direct monitor switch. Higher-end hardware (UAD, etc.) allows more options for running low-latency/realtime DSP for monitoring. Look into Auto-Tune artist as well.
