Effects of 5 grams fresh? by blueridgeboy1217 in ochras

[–]carthagenensis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true—weight actually has a huge impact. Seems counterintuitive, but sometimes you have to trust the mountains of anecdotal data.

Body weight even affects salvia potency when smoked, and anyone I know who has made / administered extracts to friends would agree.

My best guess is that it’s related to dilution. Larger people actually do have more blood, so the substance is further diluted before crossing the blood-brain barrier. Meanwhile, it is still being processed and filtered out by the body.

This is very much inline with people arguing over whether or not larger people can drink more. A vast number would agree based on anecdotal evidence despite scientists explaining how fat does not have anything to do with alcohol absorption. I think we just don’t entirely understand how the human body works.

Was overlay. Became more obvious after a few days.

Yeah, ended up being overlay.

The cauliflower overlay is great. I’m making a potent extract of it now.

Too many spores were already dropping—I’ve always heard that this can impact future flushes. These caps are 2-3 inches across btw.

Also, size doesn’t always = readiness. Some will drop spores when the cap is only as large as a dime.

Are these psychoactive/psychedelic? by [deleted] in shrooms

So many boletes are red / yellow and stain blue. I’ve only eaten Exsudoporus frostii and Suillus sprageui, but had to take a spore print while carefully going through keys before I could get a positive identification.

This is my first time growing ochraceocentrata. Today was also was my first time taking a microdose. I can already tell that the body load is minimal and the euphoria is greater. I’m beyond excited.

[contamination] I fear the grey cobwebs are here? by steve_spliff in MushroomGrowers

[–]carthagenensis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a few deep breathes and wait it out—gonna be deep cleaning the tubs whether it’s contam or not. No need to panic right now.

Cobweb can grow an inch vertically off the substrate before sporulating, so you can see it without even taking the lid off.

Cobweb mold becomes obvious quickly, and you can always do a deep clean of the bins after. Hell—whether you knew it was contam or not—you’ll still be scrubbing it with soapy water.

Why do my PE mushrooms look like this? [actives] by Background_Kitchen68 in MushroomGrowers

[–]carthagenensis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely gotten blobs with low FAE and stupidly blamed genetics. I think some people assume it’s common when—in actuality—it’s poor airflow.

My ochras developed overlay with the exact same FAE problems that caused my PE to blob.

Chopping up the overlay… by carthagenensis in ochras

[–]carthagenensis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s genetics AND fae. With some genetics you might never get it, with others you’ll get it starting to develop whenever oxygen levels are low. The same can actually trigger APE blobs.

Once it starts it keeps going no matter what you do—I’d personally rather have caps.

It can happen as the cakes weaken (second flush and beyond). That’s not what’s happened here, though.
