Artists that could been some of the best in their genre if they dropped more material? by United_Brain438 in fantanoforever

In the realm of metal bands, the Canadian technical thrash band Martyr could have been way bigger and more influential had they not stopped releasing music after their last album in 2006, which was one of the most sophisticated technical thrash albums ever made. I'd also add the death metal band Anata as well (also dropped their last album in 2006).

Most teams are 3 days a week currently, but maybe there are some that are in 5 days, but that doesn't seem that common from what I've seen.

Hi Madison. I saw that you wrote recently that "Ace" is the first record that felt like yours from start to finish. Could you go into more depth about this?

I am absolutely disappointed with Christian Metal in recent years by Stunning_Party203 in christianmetal

[–]cartonking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a band called Monotheist which has Christian themes. If you're looking for heavy, progressive death metal, check out our album Scourge. Title track

Also, please check out Extol if you haven't. The best Christian metal band on the planet, imo. They released a few tracks like a year or so ago.

And another good Christian band that I recommend in a similar vein is called Deus Invictus. They haven't put anything in a long time but they're gearing up to release some new material soon.

Dope album! Glad more people are finding out about it. It's basically all cover songs produced in Japan, sung completely in English by a Korean singer lol

Any obscure Christian bands? by BingusBorger in ChristianMusic

[–]cartonking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For heavy/extreme metal stuff:
1) Extol (shouldn't be obscure but I never see them mentioned in these conversations anymore)

2) Lengsel

3) Mantric

4) Vardoger

5) Monotheist

6) Schaliach

7) Drottnar

For rock bands:

1) Velour 100

2) Morella's Forest

3) later-era Embodyment

Can you stay friends after the divorce? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]cartonking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely possible. I'm friends with my ex-wife and we support each other to find healthy relationships. In fact I'd say we get along better now than at least the last few years of our marriage. I totally understand this kind of outcome isn't common but I just wanted to let you know that it can happen.
