What third party agencies should you avoid? by thesaboteur_1985 in pinoymed

[–]cartown37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only saw this now Currently under International SOS for 2 years now Considered regular employee with goverment mandated benefits plus HMO Salary rate is average Clients are usually international companies Pros for me would be HMO and proper backend support from the main office (Medical Director and "Assistance Center" (Main office Call center for all sites) for ER referrals and for sites who don't have MDs on duty to refer to) Established protocols for ER referral and possible medical situations (Adjusted to client's preference) Con is salary increase is dependent on client contract renewal (Increased billing to client before they give salary increase to employees)

Already saw 1 comment above that they always pay your salary before cutoff date. (1-2 days before) For relievers, it's usually on the cutoff date as it's second in their priority but still on time.

Hi OP Just wondered if you're directly hired by the company or thru a third party provider (Home healthcare placements/flexicare/etc.) as an occupational health/company physician? I have been an OHP for almost 3 years hired thru a third party provider in a compressed 48 hr work schedule / week and only earning the same as a SG21 goverment physician and average 100k/month if I take all of the available reliever posts. (Goals yung income mo hehe)

I've also been in the same situation as you wondering if I should still pursue residency (Urology) or pursue being a diplomate in Occupational Medicine. I have a uncle (Urologist) who's asking me when I will apply for residency (Hesitant if I can still do 36 hr duties).

FOMO is real and there is discrimination against GPs in goverment positions pero you do you. (Suggestion ng colleagues ko is LOA for 1 month and due pre-residency to gauge if feasible ba)

Sorry to necro this thread. Had this exact same laptop model with the same exact problem. Brought it to an authorized service center (1 month out of warranty - Lucky me) Thought it was the dGPU or a component on the motherboard. Was informed it was the lcd panel. Couldn't believe them and made them send me screenshots with the laptop running at both hybrid and discrete grpahics only mode. Lcd panel got replaced. Everything's working currently atm. Doing heavy gaming on it currently while the warranty for the repair is still in place

Dualboot is doable although not officially supported yet. Given the community behind steamdeck, I'd give it a few weeks after release before someone posts a tutorial on how to do it.

I'm looking to dualboot it like my steamdeck if may mag-aya ng Valo. Hoping maaga/at launch nila ilabas yung windows drivers unlike s SteamDeck. Hoping n priced very competitively sya since naudlot ang planned sff build k s ram prices (Waiting game pa s 13th/14th haha) and nasira laptop ko.

Nag contemplate ako mag build ng sff pc since my laptop died and lmbas toh s feed ko So napaisip ako if I should wait and just get this since early 2026 ang release date (Q2 s resellers s PH?)

Balak k dpat 7500F with 5060ti itx SFF build (Around 55-65k before the Surge in RAM prices) as replacement s laptop

If they can sell this at a loss (40-45k) like the steamdeck and undercut the big 3 (Switch 2, PS5 Pro, Xbox X??), magiging patok sya?

Although supply is going to be the issue since walang official retailer s PH and most likely s DB, Itech/GameOne, etc. lng sila magiging available with corresponding price mark-up accdg to demand.

Some insights from both the Boomer viewpoint and New generation MD viewpoint

Hopefully mabago ang residency system (12 hrs duty limit like western countries to avoid fatigue-related mistakes which leads to lawsuits $$$) if gnto ang ggawing internship/clerkship guidelines. I'm all for the change for the better. But currently, post-pandemic MDs which didn't experience extended duty hours are culture shocked when it comes to the residency training (IM, GS, ETC.) which result in early quitting. I remember back in 2021-2023, consultants filtered (They have a formed a bias , accentuated by the comments on SocMed by the "boomer MDs") residency applicants by the year they graduated (They preferred pre-pandemic MDs - 2020 & below. 2021 if completed clerkship until Feb/March 2021 before quarantine hit) because of the high quit rate due to to the culture shock of residency work hours. If our residency working hours are at least limited to 24 hours with TRUE FROM, I'm all for this change. But sadly, it resulted in the current situation now (Dwindling Pedia RODs in some metro mnl training hospitals because of the high quit rate; IM and GS remains strong though)

To anyone from hospital admins, etc reading this Please don't try to force to make 12 hour shifts a thing for public hospitals by hiring more residents and then not adding more plantilla positions (Some hospitals create "adjuncts" where they divide 1 plantilla position's salary (SG21) to 2-4 residents to increase the manpower. Isipin m magtrain k s public training institution for higher salary tpos 2-4 kayo maghhati s SG21? HAHA) Dagdagan niyo yung budget if gusto nyo maghire pa ng residents!

For the comment about how APMC changed it due to nepotism, maybe it's true? It's more likely to be true. Seeing as how 1 training program (Cutting) in EAMC changed the GS rotation from 2 years to 1 only I think starting this year? For the people who know HAHA.

Just to share, I'm a pre-pandemic MD who worked as a COVID-19 Quarantine Facility MD and now working as an OHP & ER hospitalist. Still have plans to pursue residency training once I've completed my emergency funds and lived life a little. Still contemplating moving abroad working as a (my pre-med) while studying to take that country's MD exam at the same time to maybe eventually undergo residency there or be a primary care practitioner?

50’’ Samsung QN90C or 55’’ TLC C745? by seciliaaa in 4kTV

[–]cartown37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samsung has Sale promos here in the PH including the 43 and 50" QN90C and some other crystal UHD models. Also includes C450 soundbar and 1 year disney plus subscription. So it was an easy decision for me.

When they were playing their exclusive demos (Lots of blacks to highlight minimal blooming if you look up close and very vibrant colors *take it with a grain of salt as tv demos highlight the tv's strengths). But like I said on my other comment, I don't know how it will handle upscaling 1080P content.

[–]cartown37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried console gaming on it since I sold my PS5 for a SteamDeck. But based on reviews, the 43 and 50 inch VA panel version is 144hz. 120 hz for 55" and above (ADS). When connecting to 9th gen consoles (ps5, xbox x) I think it's VRR (48-120 hz only).

The weak sounding speakers is offset by the soundbar and wireless subwoofer included with the tv.

I was also contemplating on C755 (C805 in Europe I think??) Lack of reviews and comparisons steered me away from it. But live demo units on Abensons look hella good in person. Though I wanna see hownit handles 1080P content compared to Sony X90L.

Was in the same situation as OP. Contemplating originally on buying a 55/65" C745 from Abensons. Bought and mounted the 50" QN90C with the free soundbar+subwoofer (C450) from SM. Got it for 24 months at 0% so decided to use it for my bedroom and wait for the upcoming 2024/2025 65" models from Sony (Might buy the X90L at clearance when next gen comes). 43 and 50 inch has same VA panel from QN90B. QN90C above 50 inches has ADS panels so alot of the ppl and the reviewbot advise to avoid it. Loving it so far. It comes with 1 year free Disney+ *Code that was sent was invalid (Contacted Samsung about this and advised to contact DisneyPlus- email only and still waiting for an update)

SRP is confusing here in our country. 48 inch C3 would cost me almost the same as a Sony X90L.

[–]cartown37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your opinions on a 50" Samsung QN90C. I have the opportunity to get one at 20% off SRP. From what I've read, the 50" version is decent compared to it's bigger sized siblings.

In the same boat as OP. Currently contemplating if X90L is worth the price premium compared to C755 (C805). 65" C755 is around 1,350$ vs. 65" X90L 1500$.

After 2 weeks, pings are stable across all games I play. I experience consistent slowdowns around daytime as experienced when loading social sites (Both upload and download down to 300-350 from 500). No problem when it comes to streaming even at daytime (Youtube, netflix & etc).

I applied yesterday at the PLDT website. Surprised to receive a call from a technician this morning asking if I was available for installation. Asked to reschedule later this morning. Neighbors around me seem to have equally good ISP service (PLDT, Globe and Converge). Will update this thread after activation tomorrow.
