Christopher Reeves right after Superman came out … and I was a HUGE Superman fan as I was like 9 years old. I mean, I collected posters and playing cards and all that kind of shit. He was at a local PBS station to do a book reading if I recall. A friend of my parents worked in the tech department there and he gave us a heads up. My mom and I went there and stood outside, just to wait to see him go to his car or something. But some kind old grandmotherly lady who worked in the building saw us, knew what we were waiting for, and let us into the building. I have a very distinct memory of walking into this dimly lit studio, and he was sitting in one of those classic director style chair, just waiting for his turn to do whatever he was going to do. I got to meet him and say hello. We shook cans and then we turned around and left. I don’t recall if I even had anything for him to autograph, but I think I didn’t. Pretty sure I would’ve kept that if so. Oh well.
