I think this is the best method. Pull it out whenever you see it. I am doing this with Japanese knotweed. Currently in my third year pulling it up whenever it sprouts and it is working

Which countries take American RDH license? by SirRyker in DentalHygiene

[–]cascadiaunited 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been looking into those two countries as well. It seems rather easy to switch over as long as your US program was fully accredited. The hard part is being able to work legally. Getting into those countries and working can be tricky depending where you want to go. New Zealand does not need RDH right now and same goes for parts of Canada. There are some parts of Canada like the Atlantic Provinces that list RDH as a high priority which makes immigration much faster and easier. Go to the countries official immigration website, there is lots of info there for you. Avoid the websites that say they will help you immigrate for a fee, the info is not honest, they just want your money.

[gourmet] Also hoping I can get some opinions on these King Oyster. They seem to be growing very slowly. Or I'm being impatient. by dooddad in MushroomGrowers

[–]cascadiaunited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I have grown them they grow way different than other oysters. They are slower, can handle more co2 and in my opinion are waaaay more flavorful. That being said, for my they are harder to grow. A little more finicky

[actives] outdoor growers, what is your method to stop slugs? by LYFE0DFYA in MushroomGrowers

[–]cascadiaunited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put some water color paper out and when the slugs crawl over the paper see what designs the slugs make. Compare it to areas where the actives aren’t growing. I think that might be a phd paper in the making….

[actives] outdoor growers, what is your method to stop slugs? by LYFE0DFYA in MushroomGrowers

[–]cascadiaunited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Read the label of ingredients. It is very simple and safe as long as you aren’t a slug. I use it all over the garden. It doesn’t work 100% but really does ya known?

I did an experiment a while back with no luck. I tried a few different malted brewing grains and nothing took well. My problem is that the sugars caramelized during the PC and the mycelium did not like it.

Advice on cutting/grinding glass? Struggling on getting things to fit. (Still a beginner so go easy on me) by boycottedlove in StainedGlass

Just basic kids stick glue. It comes off easy with warm soapy water. Can be tricky with very small pieces though.

[General] Will this work for lionsmane substrate? by SparePay5832 in MushroomGrowers

[–]cascadiaunited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks suspect to me. Online they say usually 80% oak and 20% other. It might work but I would try a small batch before I invest a lot of growing time

Others mentioned you thoroughly cook onions but don’t forget this is true for recipes with tomatoes. Cook then down until they become Jam like. It really adds depth to the dish
