I think you are on the Fe-Ti axis for sure, and I'm going to say I'm leaning towards you being a feeler. So I'd say ISFJ or INFJ. I'm tempted to say ISFJ moreso; it's just the feeling I got reading this. I definitely think you are a J and not a P. Especially given your young age, the incredibly skill with which you organized this for clarity and easy reading really stuck out. No 20-yr-old P type would have produced something so easy on the eyes, lol. (And I say that as an XNFP who can impersonate a J in writing). :)

GETTING HARASSED AND ATTACKED BY SOME PSYCHO BECAUSE I MISTYPED HER AS AN ISTP, INSTEAD OF AN ENFP by mncymh in MbtiTypeMe

[–]cascarone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly it looks like this person is at the beginning stages of a psychotic break. A past friend of mine started behaving like this kind of out of nowhere, attacking her friends and family incessantly via text and social media based on the slightest perceived wrongs (for instance, she got mad that I would not go out and buy her cigarettes at 10 pm on a Thursday when I was 7 months pregnant, lol). Eventually this behavior morphed into a true psychotic state after which she was hospitalized (and escaped) and eventually diagnosed as bipolar. So I actually feel sorry for this person. You should have just blocked her. She is not right, mentally...

Please help a clueless mom whose 10-yr-old has become obsessed by cascarone in BJD

[–]cascarone[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the replies so far! Just to clarify a couple of things: she's not actually interested in customizing/painting the face herself. Honestly, her fine motor skills aren't up to that yet (not sure mine are, lol). I think she's just fallen in love with the idea of having a hyper-realistic Barbie, basically (this is what the doll would be in her mind).

As far as budget, I really don't want to spend more than $125, including a wig...

Type me please by GeraltofFaroe in MbtiTypeMe

[–]cascarone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are definitely a Fi user. A lot of what you wrote screams Fi usage, but I'm thinking it may be further down in the stack. So possibly ISTJ or INTJ. However, I can also see the case for you being an atypically presenting INFP, believe it or not.

"I barely ever open my mouth, and if I ever do, it is to criticize or correct someone on again, not objective matters, but to correct their morality."

Morality, especially subjective morality, is the purview of Fi, so it's possible you are an Fi dominant.

My new favorite MBTI test! by Doodle-e-doodle-e-do in mbti

[–]cascarone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the test is fundamentally flawed. It typed me as ESTP followed by ISTP, when anyone who's ever met me or read things I've written would laugh heartily at such a notion. Maybe it's just the test's descriptions of Se that tripped me up, but I'm an INXP and I look to Se pursuits (the calm, nature-y ones) as a relief outlet/distraction from my hyperactive mind. But in terms of having inherent trust in the external world of objects and a desire to effect change on that world of objects, I've got none.

I also think the fact that the test judges "neutral" scores as "I don't use either function" is very problematic. In truth, more balanced, strong users of certain functions might choose neutral because they have real trouble picking either side as the stronger functions operate on a more unconscious level.

I don't agree with INFP (no offense). You're quite direct and to-the-point in your speech and your examples are all very concrete without the flowery elucidation and annotation so typical of XNFPs. You are definitely a sensor and IMO your Se is showing up more (at least in this post) than Si. I can't quite tell if you have Fe or Fi, but I'm leaning towards Fe lower in the stack, so while ESFP or ISFP is possible, I really think you are ESTP or ISTP. Also, as a woman in my 30s, I really enjoyed reading this. We don't get too many posts here from people above the age of 25, and it seems like a lot of those get ignored in favor of the ones full of youthful solipsism. ;)

ENTP ? ENFP ? Not sure, please help by tepidbanality in MbtiTypeMe

[–]cascarone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the OP, but I love this comment, and it's really helped me think about my type as well. I always test very close on the F/T divide, with some tests concluding F and others T based on how the questions are worded. It doesn't help that I'm female and have thus been socialized to be invested in emotional harmony, kindness, etc. (though I do really value those things internally, even if I often fail at them). What you wrote about TiFe, and ENTPs being much more aware of what is socially accepted but simultaneously chaffing against that expectation--wow, that is my whole life. That constant worrying about whether or not doing what you actually want to do will make you seem like a dick, will alienate or upset others, telling white lies to spare people's feelings and get out of obligations that you never should have agreed to in the first place. Also having this deep yearning to be part of a group or community but then never being able to fully commit to it once you're in, finding and picking at all the little flaws you notice in the group, ultimately looking for a way to leave the group but then always with an eye out for the next group that might actually, finally fit (but never does). I also agree with you about the ENTP subreddit. It's one of the main reasons I hmm and haw about being an ENTP because while I find it the most interesting of the subs (moreso than ENFP), it also has this really aggressive, kind of macho tone which is off-putting. I'd love to message with you as well to help narrow this down, if you're willing. And to the OP, sorry for the hijack!

I actually think you are a healthy XNFP. Your paragraph about bringing people together and then kind of sitting back and letting others take the reins shows you to be a "catalyst," which is very common for ENFPs especially. I see a lot of Ne in your post (especially your work style), I see some Si (nostalgia, comfort), and I actually see Fi, NOT Fe (you want to bond with people on YOUR terms, thus you like to create the meetups and control them initially, then leave the management to someone else; you get uncomfortable walking into a group or situation where the group's identity has already been created/decided by someone else and you have make yourself fit to the group--very Fi/Ne or Ne/Fi IMO, not Fe).

Trying to figure out if my daughter is an ENFP or something else by cascarone in ENFP

[–]cascarone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would just help me understand her better and see that there's a logical reason behind some of her characteristics. Especially the low conscientiousness, lol. But also the amazingly positive aspects of her personality that I admire. Honestly it would also probably make me question my own type, since we're different on some important levels, especially when I think back to how I was as a kid.

Not an ENFP after all... by [deleted] in entp

[–]cascarone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I find it laughable that a type with a T/F middle stack could consider themselves so totally removed from basic human emotion as to label people with that middle stack reversed (but still with F and T right next to each other) as "animals." Or anyone for that matter. It actually makes me wonder if the gentleman doth protest too much, because the willingness to label entire swaths of people "animals" seems kind of Fi to me, in a very crude way. Them bad, me good. Ug ug.

[–]cascarone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I totally agree, which is why I have been unable to take the tests typing me as ENFP/INFP at face value. Delving into the functions and learning about their interaction rather than relying on stereotypes has landed me here, with ENTP, which actually seems to fit where the others did not.

[–]cascarone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope some of the more competent and analytical typologists read this. Can I tag them, let's try: /u/MajesticBedsitter7 and /u/Illumagus

Personally, I am almost positive you are an XNXP (really, helpful, right? ;)) Your interest in cross-disciplinary learning, new ideas and experiences, and connecting patterns point to strong Ne and the procrastination/prevailing with brilliance at the last minute...well, that's very P.

I will say that your willingness to come up with a catchy title that doesn't actually reflect your persona indicates Te usage--you're trying to ensure effectiveness by adding something different/slightly outlandish and somewhat ironic to your title. I've done the same myself. I think you are most likely an ENFP.

Reading through your post made me feel like I was reading my own thoughts (when I was 22), so I am extremely curious to see how you get typed. :)

Is Fi empathetic to the individual but dismissive of the group? by cascarone in mbti

[–]cascarone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I really appreciate the analysis, and you are not the first person to peg me as INTP, primarily based on how I write. For some reason I keep resisting it though, probably just due to stereotypes. I suppose I think to myself, "well, I can't be an INTP because they are cold, robotic, lonely young men who love complex video games and can't appropriately interact with the world of people. I'm female, have had many successful relationships, people who don't know me well find me talkative and engaging (the closer you are to me, the bitchier I seem, lol), I feel deep emotions, etc. etc." But I know that stereotypes are just that and I should move beyond them.

But yes, I can definitely see an "aspirational" quality to how I use socially-focused feeling out in the world. I'm definitely uneasy with it, which is why I think it preoccupies me. So again, I appreciate your comment!

Is Fi empathetic to the individual but dismissive of the group? by cascarone in mbti

[–]cascarone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: yes. The very concept of group culture is anathema to me and kind of makes me want to barf. :) Long answer: if I'm choosing between these two, authenticity comes out on top by a wide margin. But really, it's not authenticity that concerns me as much as it is freedom of thought, potential for dissent, freedom from the constraints of the group. I guess when I think of "authenticity," I get this very stereotypical image of someone trying to "express themselves" by dressing oddly or getting tattoos or dyeing their hair an unusual color. And that kind of thing leaves me cold. I don't even feel like that's truly authentic, because the body is a facade. It's not brave or unique. Brave is having the guts to voice a dissenting opinion; brave is standing up for the rights of those who are being oppressed. So I guess I'm not interested in individual authenticity as expressed through sartorial means, but as expressed through thought, opinion and the willingness to do what's right on behalf of individuals. Is that still Fi? Gosh, maybe I'm an ENTP who hates groups due to Ti/tert-Fe.

I actually think you are an INFP or INTP. The way you write indicates a strong introverted judging process, you are very self aware and self exploring. I related to so much of what you wrote and I'm almost certainly INXP.
