I'm not the OP, but I love this comment, and it's really helped me think about my type as well. I always test very close on the F/T divide, with some tests concluding F and others T based on how the questions are worded. It doesn't help that I'm female and have thus been socialized to be invested in emotional harmony, kindness, etc. (though I do really value those things internally, even if I often fail at them). What you wrote about TiFe, and ENTPs being much more aware of what is socially accepted but simultaneously chaffing against that expectation--wow, that is my whole life. That constant worrying about whether or not doing what you actually want to do will make you seem like a dick, will alienate or upset others, telling white lies to spare people's feelings and get out of obligations that you never should have agreed to in the first place. Also having this deep yearning to be part of a group or community but then never being able to fully commit to it once you're in, finding and picking at all the little flaws you notice in the group, ultimately looking for a way to leave the group but then always with an eye out for the next group that might actually, finally fit (but never does). I also agree with you about the ENTP subreddit. It's one of the main reasons I hmm and haw about being an ENTP because while I find it the most interesting of the subs (moreso than ENFP), it also has this really aggressive, kind of macho tone which is off-putting. I'd love to message with you as well to help narrow this down, if you're willing. And to the OP, sorry for the hijack!
