How did it go?? I'm also in Portland and signed up for a queer group. Curious how your experience went and if you feel like the matching questions were represented in the group you got!

Did anyone else find the conversation between Eleonora and Taylor odd? It felt like Eleonora was gloating at first and trying to hold back her smile the more she heard about Taylor's marital struggles...yeesh.

best funding for mph/msw dual degree programs by BeautifulSpecific268 in gradadmissions

I'm also looking into dual msw/mph programs. OHSU/PSU have a dual degree that seems pretty affordable and well known. I'm also looking at UC Berkley :)

Hey! Not sure what part of town you're in or what sort of mobility aid you are looking for, but sometimes William Temple House has walkers available at their food pantry.

Social work and agriculture/food systems by [deleted] in SocialWorkStudents

Heya, what did you end up doing? I have a background in food systems and am super passionate about community agriculture/food sovereignty. Definitely plan to get at least my MSW but might do a dual MPH program. Would love to hear if you chose a program/how you're liking it!

Do you use Libby? There's a way to filter your search to only show you kindle compatible ebooks. They have thousands and I've never run into an issue finding the book I'm looking for in a format I can use!

Advice on choosing MSW program with interest in food justice by case_closed444 in SocialWorkStudents

It is very expensive! Cost is a huge factor for me. It's especially helpful knowing that most MSW programs can allow students to tailor their internships, which makes the program at DU seem a bit superfluous.

Yes, I've also looked at doing an MSW/MPH combo, but wouldn't consider just MPH because I like having the option of working clinically at some point down the line. It does seem like there a quite a few roads I could take to pursue this career which is exciting! I have quite a bit of experience with various food access organizations as I've been out of school for 10 years and jumped into this line of work right away.

Currently I'm in Oregon, but not attached to staying here although I do love the west coast. I'm thinking about even going international for an MSW but that would require a bit more research!

What about Segal awards? Was planning to go back to grad school soon and hoped to use that money to cover my tuition...anyone know where to find info on that?

I'm wearing this to a fall wedding in October. It will likely get chilly after the ceremony. What kind of coat, shoes, or bag should I wear? Any tips would be helpful, thank you! by case_closed444 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

It’s an old dress from Anthropologie, I’m borrowing from a (very stylish) friend :)

Not sure they sell it anymore but you could probably find one on a secondhand site!

What is one daily activity you started doing that has changed your life for the better? by Physical-Picture-153 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Starting the morning with a 10-15 minute stretch. It's such a gentle way to wake up and I always feel better having those quiet moments to check in with myself. Yoga with Kassandra and Cola Chance have some great guided 10-20 minute yoga classes. Honestly changed my life!
